Excerpt: New ones should last 50% more. Conclusion: For the price of $200 CAD, you’re getting a networked printer that is fast in black and white, decently quick for color, is great for text, but produces banding in graphics/photos. For a home/small business user that is not overly demanding of photo print quality, this is a great choice. The price per page in the long run surely beats inkjets and the toner does not dry out over time.
Summary: We bought the wireless version of this printer thirteen months ago. Some background on our needs: we comprise a home-based writer and two teenagers who frequently need work printing off, plus another occasional user. The wireless aspect was important to us as we use three laptops in various rooms. Set-up Set-up was fairly straightforward, with only the usual wireless issues when we came to network the printer with our laptops.
Summary: When my husband told me he wanted to bring his computer into the bedsit of a flat we are in i was cautiously supportive, when i heard it was a laser printer my heart fell. Laser printers are huge things, noisy and i'd only ever worker with old black and white printouts that were passable but no good for the delicate craft work we wanted to try. I must say i was bought over by this printer though.
Pros: save on blocked print heads and expensive cartridges
Summary: If you are frustrated at the cost of ink for inkjets then you're looking in the right place. I bought this printer as a cheap laser printer to replace my inkjet. Having been warned that cheap colour laser printouts were very bad quality I decided to go ahead and order the full colour laser printer instead of a cheaper mono laser printer - figuring that if I don't use it then it's not too much money wasted and that it would be fine for some handouts and other documents.
Pros: Speed isn't bad once it gets going, small size and very easy to setup
Cons: Maybe not fast enough for a big office or large documents. Doesn't have extra gadets like networking
Summary: THE PRINTER IS NOT THAT SLOW FOR THE BUY... BUT THIS PRINTER WILL NOT PRINT A PLAIN BLUE CIRCLE TO MY LIKING..... YEA ITS BLUE BUT, IF I CHANGE TO DIFFERENT SHADES AND TONES OF BLUE.... IT PRINTS WHAT THE HELL IT WANTS...ONE SHADE ......DIFFERENT TONES...EVERY TIME... SO CALIBRATION IN THE PRINT SETTING SHOULD HELP......!....NOPE.... ALL IT DOES IS LIGHTER DARKER....IF YOUR NOT CONCERNED WITH MONITOR PRINT RATIO **** IT ITS PERFECT FOR YA....
Summary: people get what they pay for... if you want to print photo's get a top class inkjet (or go to the nearest camera shop). If you want simple colour prints and a price that does not cripple the budget then this is for you. I got one to replace my old clp-300 which I worked into the ground...
Summary: After 14 months (after the 1 yr warranty expired), white streaks started appearing in the black and grey printing on all documents. The repairer said this was a common problem - the printing mechanism is only good for so many pages then fails. The cost of repairs was $150, but the same problem will recur after the same number of pages.
Summary: It's a cheap colour laser printer which prints in fairly good quality.Great size for my cluttered desk although it is on what is glossy paper & what is photo paper. overall I am Happy with this inexpensive printer.
Pros: Very Well Priced
Cons: Not very clear on photo media that you can use
