Very Happy

Anonymous, Newegg
29 January 2009
  • Summary: I got the non networked printer a year ago which new egg no longer carries. This is the identical printer with an on board Ethernet NIC
  • Pros: Quicker than lesser expensive options with much better image quality. Actually a bit faster with much better image quality than some of the higher priced options. Install is a breeze and so is swapping out toner cartridges. Easy to use software preferences. Works with W2k sp4, XP sp1,2,3 Vista sp...
  • Cons: Occasional paper jam when there is less than 3 sheets left in the paper tray. Can not handle heavier stock than normal weight. Has issues with Ubuntu and DSL linux.

Some guys have all the Luck

Justin K., Newegg
24 December 2008
  • Summary: This printer is pricey, now. I paid one hundred twenty eight bucks for it after rebates. The new "black colored" CLP 315 or something has the same specs (I just want to know if it takes the same toner). Perhaps this printer jams up on people that are cycling a buttload of paper through it.
  • Pros: Some of you sound like you got burned with this product... However, this guy has been running like a champ for over a year now. I have printed a LOT of pages off this little guy and NEVER replaced a toner cartridge yet. Honestly, I've cycled a couple thousand pages through it. I don't understand ...
  • Cons: None, save for the fact that she will not respond if she's been sitting idle for a couple days. This only happens rarely, and requires a hard reset. I had no driver issues. I recommend downloading the latest drivers directly from Samsung's site. I installed this bad boy on a Windows x64 network.

Great printer

Joel D., Newegg
3 December 2008
  • Summary: The right kind of paper makes a difference. Try a lot of different kinds, in different weights and brightness. If you have a network in your home or office, networking a printer is much more flexible. Just stick it by your router or connect to any ethernet port.
  • Pros: This is my fourth Samsung CLP-300 series printer, 2 regular and 2 network version. I guess I like 'em. For the price, it's a great little color laser printer. Even photos are half-way decent, regular graphics are stunning. If you really want to do high-quality photo prints, inkjet is the way to g...
  • Cons: This printer doesn't do well with card stock or anything heavier than 24-pound paper, even though it says it can take it. Experienced mostly jams with heavier paper.

Cool Printer!

Anonymous, Newegg
25 April 2007
  • Summary: We need some means to "reset" these darned kill chips.
  • Pros: QUIET, quiet, quiet. Did I say it's quiet? Finally we can print from any of our computers and no other computer has to be on. Network printers only in the future.
  • Cons: Cartridges have a kill chip; once one is empty the whole printer stops. But then, almost all manufacturers do that.

Perfect starter color laser printer.

M. Su, Amazon
22 March 2007
  • Summary: I got this for my small business. Occassionally we need color prints, it's a hassel to go out and print it, and usually the ink jets' ink is always dry when we need to use it. WIth the small amount of prints we do on color, normally it means buy ink, print 1 time, then it's dry.
