Summary: I've had this printer since, oh, 2005 or so - about 5 years. I agonized over this purchase, and even paid for the Staples free replacement plan (which I don't think they even offer anymore) in case it crapped out. The printer only gets light use, but it mostly sits in "power save" mode all day and night, month after month. It's the only printer we have in the house, and we print to it (via the network) from 4 different computers.
Summary: I have had this printer for four or five years now with few problems. It makes glossy color prints and crisp written sheets. There are a loads of options, including a setting that uses no color toner for B&W...a significant cost savings. The lcd technology is superior to laser. What really impresses me is the 24/7 customer support line.
Summary: This is the worst printer I have ever had, the print quality is ok, if you can EVER get it to print. Constant paper jams, it can't go through more than a couple prints without getting jammed. Then when you clear the jam it gets jammed again. Prepare to spend at least an hour if you want to print more than 10 pages at once, you will need it to clear all the paper jams. This thing is useless and a piece of junk.
Summary: I purchased one of these just over a year ago, before our Christmas rush. The printer worked OK initially, but we had problems with the manual tray. It would NOT pull labels or any "thicker" paper stock through without a "nudge" from us, pushing it in a bit. Then, the drums became scratched, and the printer was virtually useless, and print quality was horrible. I called Okidata, and they graciously replaced the printer chassis and drums with a new one, new drum.
Summary: I love this printer! I have printed over 8000 pages on this one and it has performed flawlessly. I did add a duplexer to it and that is great too. Thank you for providing a very good product at a great price. The printing from this printer is very fast and of high quality. I haven't had any complaints from our customers about the quality of the illustrations or readability of the sewing machine manuals that we are authorized to reproduce.
Summary: Much has been said already on this! I only testify that is produces awesomely vibrant prints with glossy surface that look like a top shelf magazine's cover! THis printer is very frugal, takes without any problems substitution inks and overall is my full duty print house that prints on virtually anything. If you need a personal printing house it is one!
Okidata has terrible service response! Like Never.

Summary: Have been trying to get Okidata to respond to my c5150 network printer problem for 6 months and have given up! VISTA will not recognise the printer on the network - period.. Okidata will not update their drivers to make it work with VISTA OS. Okidata fails to respond to emails. It does work only if you use USB and force it to work. The printer is a great printer if you will only use XP OS.
Summary: I was so fed up with inkjets...the cartridges that run out so quickly, clog, require that you wait for cleaning cycles, and are just plain slow in general, not to mention how expensive supplies are, and how the stupid prints practically smear when the humidity in the room goes up. I found the OKI C5150 with a rebate and an amazing shredder thrown in for free, got it all for less than [...]. The thing works flawlessly.
Summary: Having gotten disgusted with the newer inkjet products and the inkjet manufacturers who (1) have made it their mission to sell inkjets that now cannot be calibrated to save black ink and (2)can now only make a profit if they vastly overprice inkjet cartridges, I, a poverty stricken person who wished only to print without worry that the ink would run out or the printer heads would become clogged or a myriad other niggling doubts about the effacy of inkjets in general,...
