Excellent Speed, Print Quality, Consumable Cost is Okay
15 April 2009
Summary: I like that this printer is really fast (quick print outs), network able, has great print quality, offers great customer service in U.S. and the toner cost (consumable)is not too high if you go with a "compatible" toner-seller online (would recommend). The smaller size and weight over my previous printer (Okidata c5200n), is terrific for home or office use.
Summary: It acts like a printer you would find at a print shop. The colors are clear and sharp. I have owned a printer like this before and was very happy with it. I do a lot of color printing, as I print cookbooks, paper back books and other items that we sell.
Summary: This is a smaller version of the 5500 and I like it at work. This one should work great. Be aware, the disk does not have Vista driver. It does have internet driver install and it picks up Vista driver doing that.
Summary: This is a great option for a home use printer. The quality is great. The size/footprint is also good as it fits perfectly on the top of a standard file cabinet. It is easy to set up / install and use. The cost of replacement toner is lower, in general, than other printers in the same class. You will spend around $60 for color toner cartridges that yield up to 1000 pages and slightly less for the black toner that yields up to 2000 pages.
Summary: One of the fastest available. Small footprint. Saturated colors, water proof prints, the ink doesn’t run when damp like ink jet prints. It plugged into my network and was instantly recognized. I have bought 9 C3400n's for associates and family. I set mine up to print Black only unless I need color. The black cartridge is under $40 for a compatible that prints 2500 pages.
Summary: It does have quirks traditional to small color laser printers: draws quite a bit of power on start-up, takes a minute or so to warm up, is noisier than its larger brothers. However, once warmed up it produces stunning color prints, cranks out text-only paperwork at a rapid pace, and has some pretty impressive features for a personal printer. I especially enjoy the color calibration charts. Would buy this unit again.
Summary: This is a great color printer. If buying a used one make absolutely sure that the seller does NOT remove the color cartridges prior to shipment. If they are removed and then reinstalled the printer will NOT recognize them and now you have four large paperweights.
Summary: The printer works well although I had a delay in setup because the supplied printer drivers did not include the Vista operating system. I also have an issue with the toner level report. On installation the capacity of all tonor cartridges was 99%. On day two the black toner supply was listed at 20% and this has not changed. There were very few pages printed between these reports. Either the sensor is in error or the supply is not at the stated expected 2500 pages.
