Summary: This printer is a mess. The process for installing drivers is exacting, and if you don't follow it to the letter, your printer doesn't work. This is unusually frustrating. No other piece of hardware I've installed in the past 18 years has given me this much trouble, nor has customer service been so unresponsive (or rude the two times I was able to reach them). Save yourself some frustration - AVOID!
Pros: hasn't told me to shut up unlike customer support
Summary: I tried all sorts of things, read forums, tried to install the requested Rosetta, got the updated driver from OKI's site, etc, and still my Mac doesn't see this printer. What a waste of time. This printer is going back to the store.
Summary: I had this for less than a year and spent $1200 in toner. Machine always worked fine and tech support was really good. But the machine just cost a fortune to run. Finally got wise and bought a Ricoh.
Summary: Terrible reliability. I'm on my second one. The first was totally problematic. The second, which was swapped out by an Okidata supervisor is now giving me another error: "Service Call - 142 Error". I have two other, totally & perfectly functioning Okidata printers, one B4600 & one C610 Color printer which work essentially flawlessly... This one NOT SO MUCH!!! ARGHHHH!!!! I'm on the phone w/Okidata right now trying to get the 'Ghost Out Of The Machine". Not Recommended!!!
Summary: I have printed 11,000 pages, but have used so much toner that's its crazy. It works out to 13cents a page. To replace all 4 toners is well over $400. It's cheaper to throw it out and buy a new printer each time.
Pros: i have not any trouble with the printer itself.
Summary: The print quality is adequate, but I got rid of my Okidata printers because they were VERY expensive to operate because the toner... even remanufactured... is extremely expensive and does not last very long. These printers are not built to last and Okidata has struggled to keep up with standard operating system updates, so they have been bricks half the time. I switched my home and business to Lexmark.
Summary: Perhaps I had a defective unit, but my experience was completely different than the 2 reviews I read. This unit is quite loud, and runs for several minutes after each print. The print quality on full color was terrible. The toner didn't fuse to the paper at all. I am returning it immediately.
