Summary: This printer is awful. It drinks ink so your constantly having to buy new ink cartridges. Th cartridges are hard to come buy unless you buy expensively and directly from Lexmark. I wouldnt recommend it at all!
Great Machine and easy to use when setting up. Works best using Windows XP

Summary: Installation was a bit tricky, but easy using Windows XP. Windows detects the drivers. To be on the safe side, I recommend users down load the software from the website, to ensure you have the latest. Problems occur when you attempt to install without first installing the software and firm ware that comes with the machinen or is downloadable from the manufacturer. Once set up this is a great product.
Wifi doesn't work, print quality is great for the price
3 January 2010
Summary: Good - the printer looks nice and prints great. I got it for a great price. Bad - the Wifi doesn't seem to work. (The indicator light doesn't light up, even to indicate an error.) Since I am able to use it wired, this isn't a large issue.) Also, the print cartridges aren't easy to pick up at Walmart (though you can order them from Circuit City or online.
Summary: I purchased the Lexmark Z1480 on the premise that I was on the path to ridding my computer of a lot of unnecessary cables that only clutter up my desk and living room. With the affiance that wireless networking setup would be easy and prompt, I bought the printer and unpacked it. Simple enough. The setup process was long and tedious, much more so than the more complex Canon Pixma 9500, a much more beefy and technical printer.
Summary: The Lexmark Z1480 can handle a large print job as I have printed about 500 sheets is about one week's time. It passed the volume test. This Lexmark comes in handy when you have computers in different rooms of your house. This particular model prints well and is quick. The one lone but major drawback is that you can only purchase printer cartridges from Circuit City or directly from Lexmark via online.
Summary: Lexmark Z1480 InkJet Printer...Looked like a great buy...an upgrade to WIFI....I have a Vista O/S....I have a WIFI router to cable(Road Runner), which works perfectly to my laptop (Tosiba). I cannot get the WIFI function to work. It works with a USB connection, but that is not what I bought it for. I have googled the problem and find that some people have no problem and others have the same problem I have. It is simply frustrating.
Lexmark Z1480 printer paper aligner mechanically flawed
10 February 2008
Summary: Easy set up, wireless locates the PC and router fine, but, the paper grabber does a very poor job of maintaining control over print paper during many a printing action. This is a major drawback towards my and retaining this printer. Seems to be an actual mechanic flaw on the part of Lexmark and was not well thought out on the part of those whom created this printer.
Summary: Very convenient for wireless laptops or multiple PC's You'll love this if you dont have a fixed point for your laptop & dont want to be tethered to print something. Also great for multiple PC homes. Keep it in centralized place & all PC's can share its use making an economic choice for ink & paper.
