Summary: I had tons of extra 17 and 27 cartridges for my old lexmark printer but it didn't have a driver for the Windows 7 OS on my new computer. This printer used the same cartridges and had drivers for the new computer. A much more economical choice than buying a newer model and it runs perfectly.
Summary: I don't understand some of the other reviews. I've used this printer for 3 yrs and have had no problems at all. I've replaced ink once with no issues and ink price is average.I would buy it again.
Summary: Cheap printer but costly in maintaining it, just like a BMW or Jaguar. Total ink eater!!! Requires constant ink changes. Otherwise the ease of operating is simple once configured with the computer. I would NOT have purchased this printer if I knew about the "hungry for ink".
Summary: I have owned this printer for almost 3 years. Most of the time it has been broken for one reason or another. It goes through ink pretty fast, and the ink cartridges are very touchy, and I have ruined the last 2 black inks just by installing them. Yes, the replacement cartridges are pricey.
Summary: I had no problems with anything 'til yesterday. Now, it won't turn on. I paid $30 for it, June of 2008. It doesn't seem like Lexmark is the brand to buy for me anymore. Yes, the ink is expensive. Hmmmm. . . bummer.
Summary: We got this printer about 2 1/2 years ago. It has always worked pretty well except for the tendency to freeze my system and require a restart. Last week it simply stopped reading the color ink cartridge. Now there is a cartridge in the machine but it will not read it so I cannot print anything.
Summary: When I bought this the reviews I read were decent. It worked for awhile. It ate up expensive ink, had all sorts of error messages, I would have to restart it constantly, print quality became very poor, then the copier quit copying, quit scanning and today it quit printing and now it won't even turn...
