Summary: This printer replaces a Dell m5200 workhorse that we had for years. We have two other T640n printers and have never had any major issues with them. Duplexers, memory and extra trays can be found for very reasonable prices on eBay and the 21,000 page toner that we get from Tonerworld.com works very well and this helps keep the price per page low (vs. the OEM toner @ $400 a pop). I recommend this printer without reservation.
Summary: Comments about Lexmark T640dtn: This printer although rather unique has done an amazing job for my office. Lexmark always seems to be in the shadow of HP but I would defiantly recommend this printer. It has worked very well over the last 3 months and I haven’t had one single issue with it. Usually with the old printers I would have to call maintenance every few weeks but haven’t had that problem here!
Summary: Comments about Lexmark T640n: What a cute little printer. I had bought this for my secretary to use since all of the other printers were always tied up. She loved it so much she had to buy one for her home as well. It works very well and it very fast, we have printed 5,000 pages and have been very satisfied.
Summary: Comments about Lexmark T640dtn: we used to have the tn version of this machine, but we had to upgrade to a duplex model because of how our workload has changed. Since we were so happy about the tn, we saw no reason to press our luck and go with a different company. It was the right call! Stay with this series. It works well.
Summary: Comments about Lexmark T640tn: After looking to purchase the T640n, my company decided to buy the T640dtn. The n stands for networking, the t for the extra printer tray, and the d for duplex. We were concentrating on this Lexmark model because it's very efficient and capable of printing on heavy bond paper as well as vinyl labels. After some tests, we decided this was definitely the route to go.
Summary: Comments about Lexmark T640dtn: Humid and warm rooms are not good for regular labels, so we purchased this laser for how well it handled vinyl labels. Vinyl labels are waterproof, so the only test was how well the laser ink would stay on the labels. So far, it seems to be working out great! We may never actually use the duplex feature in this model, and would probably have passed with the T640tn as far as labels go ;) but it definitely helps when printing manuals.
