GOOD PRINTER WHEN WORKING, SLOW PRINT CAN MAKE YOU CRAZY.
5 October 2011
Summary: A CHEAP TO OPERATE DISPOSABLE PRINTER - IF YOU TAKE CARE OF IT, KEEP IT CLEAN AND TREAT IT NICE. USED UNITS I PURCHASED LATELY - WHICH PROMISED LIKE NEW OPERATION OR SLIGHTLY USED - TURNED OUT TO BE JUNK. THESE PRINTERS, AND THE Z705 / P707 MODELS, WERE MADE ABOUT 10 YEARS AGO AND WERE SOLD FOR $20 NEW IN BOX AT STAPLES. SOME WERE INCLUDED IN SYSTEM PURCHASES. SO BUY A NEW ONE, BUY IT FOR $20 BECAUSE THE SLOW FEED/ PRINT CAN MAKE YOU CRAZY.
Summary: I am only sad that Lexmark stopped making this Photo Printer. I was so happy to find one on ebay and the seller was a very sweet young man. Living close by gave me a chance to meet him and he even offered to help me install the printer if I needed him to. I didn't but it was the thought. Lexmark should bring back a printer as great as the P707 is!
Summary: This is a great, affordable printer with 1 great feature that I love. The memory card reader. It's built right in to the side of the printer and software is included to install the drivers on your computer. So many card readers don't come with the software, and I've had nothing but bad luck with them. This one works great. The printer does great as well, so overall I am very happy with this purchase.
Summary: I like Lexmark printers because you can find most drivers on their web site. You can still buy most of the ink at their store or Wal-mart. Most ink cartridges are compatible in drifferent printers. The older printers still print good if you buy the cartridges and not remanufactured ones, i still have several printers that are 6-10 years old and still work good. I have one printer that i have changed the cartridge in at least 10-12 times.
Summary: I love this printer. Quality pictures and prints, easy to use and the built in photo and SD Card reader makes it a blast to move pics from your camera straight to the printer. Various paper textures from flat white to high glossy. The DPi is incredible and even though it's a little "aged" it's worth every penny. The cartridges "(from black and color /or black and photo)" are reasonable and accessable from most area stores.
Summary: I have used in the range of 40 different printers since dealing with computers in the mid 80's. Lexmark came out of IBM. As you know anything associated with IBM has to be GOOD. And the p707 Lexmark printer is. Unless the paper is bad you will NOT have a jam. If the paper is good you can print an image over a like image and not likely be able to tell that it was printed twice. You don't have to do anything special to do that.
