Summary: I am impressed with and super-irritated at this printer. First, what I am impressed with: -Quick printing. -Clean, crisp copies. -Back-to-back printing to save paper. Plus, it's almost as quick coming out back-to-back as it would be coming out with two pieces of paper. Why I am irritated: -Excessively long set up. It requires a CD-Rom to install and I only 1 of my 3 laptops has a CD player - the other two are Chromebooks and they have no CD drives.
Summary: I'm not especially software adept, so setting up the printer was a chore, and should be easier nowadays, with other brands you just turn it on. The on/off in the back is difficult to find, but as the printer is primarily for a classroom or business environment, then that is probably the best place for it, out of the way. The printer is fast and takes on those hundreds of manuscript page reprints with ease. Just the ticket for volume b&w desktop publishing.
Summary: It took me a bit longer to set this printer up than usually. Running a tablet/laptop I had no way to use the disc included. So I had to hunt through Lexmark's site to find something 'close'. With some trial and error I was able to get the printer going. I had installed it off of my router so everything in the house could print from it. For the various other Android and Apple tablets around the house, and the phones running Win81.
Summary: The Lexmark MS312dn Monochrome Printer has been a double edged sword for me. The set up process was absolutely terrible. First, regardless of what I did it will not pick up my Wi-Fi connection. I followed the directions and read the manual but it just never worked. I spent over 2 hours on this process alone. Now I am stuck having to use a USB connection to print which is not the most convenient option.
Summary: Out of the box, it looks just like the printers placed throughout my office. It comes with a toner cartridge, which is nice. The instructions are basically a series of images, with little or no explanation to accompany them. It also comes with a CD, which we put in our laptop and tried to use to connect the printer to our network and our laptop, all wirelessly, as promised. It didn't work well.
Summary: This printer measures about 15 3/4" W X 15 1/4" D X 10 1/4" H. Setting up this printer was fairly easy. It comes with a quick-start guide that was just made up of illustrations. If just illustrations is confusing to you, the accompanying written instructions can be found on the installation CD. You can connect this printer to a network (via an Ethernet cable or wireless) or directly to your PC with a USB cable.
Summary: Lexmark MS312dn In all, this is a great little printer that has now replaced our dear old, but still very usable, HPLaserJet4. I never thought I would like another printer enough to be able to replace the HPLJ4, but after using the Lexmark printer and reviewing it, I now use the Lexmark as the main office printer and relegated the HPLJ4 to the craft room. Packaging: The printer came in a Lexmark box and that was then packaged in an Amazon box.

Summary: This printer takes printing jobs from my MacBook. I have had a few others that just did not work -even with a lot of help from my Mac friends. Even my best and favorite Epson printer will take wireless printing jobs, only after going through all of the steps to change the printer to a FAX. (Don't ask.) This printer puts out pages at an amazing speed. Even during summer break, I find myself downloading drawings and puzzles from ABCmouse and edhelper.
