Summary: previous reviewer's comments somewhat helpful. I needed to change the IP Address on the printer itself (the embedded webserver- I guess). The manuals don't explain what or where the embedded webserver is. it took many hours to figure this out. the options are on the printer lcd,hit the menu button on the printer then navigate through to the screens: settings, general settings, setup menu, netwk/ports, network1, net 1 setup... to find where to set the IP address.
Summary: I bought this printer because PC World rated this one of the Top 10 monochrome laser printers: [...](actually, the E460dn model). I also wanted the printer to have a wireless network interface, so I went with the E460dw. The printer toner cartridge comes in a plastic frame that is wrapped in a foam layer.
Summary: A super printer, quiet and efficent. Used as a small home net work printer its ideal, to date its proved economical in ink usage and the duplex mode means no more fiddling with printing every other page then reloading to print on the other side. Well worth the money.
Summary: Not the easiest of wifi printers to set up and because we have both xp and Win 7 OS there were some added complications. The printer had far less problems working with xp than Win 7 and it took a number of attempts before we could find the right updates from Lexmark's support pages. However, we now think we've cracked it and it all seems fine - time will tell. Update: 14.2.12.
