Summary: Comments about Lexmark E250DN: I do a lot of printing at home when I bring things home from the office. I needed something that was affordable with my budget and also produced good printed pages. This one does it. So far, it appears easier on the ink than my old printer so I'm pleased about that.
Summary: I am a retired IT Director with years of experience with Lexmark and HP mono lasers. Like the "bunny", the Lexmarks keep on working until Lexmark declines to issue drivers for a new operating system. A predecessor tried to save $ using 3rd party toners but ran up excessive repair costs.
Summary: This is a well behaved device that a novice user might be able to install. The printer comes with the features I need and does them very well. I have not tested envelope printing yet, but the features I have used are satisfactory.
Pros: This printer installed easily. The quick start guide was clear and the printer worked right out of the box. Text on this printer is clearly and sharp. This printer is a marvel for the price. If it keeps performing like this I will be more than comfortable telling my friends it is a good by.
Summary: With free shipping from Newegg.com and discount price, I was not too upset about paying to return defective printer.
Pros: Nice home office printer with full duplexing, 10/100 Mb NIC port, USB Port, LPT Port.....Easy Setup....FAST and not as loud as HP.
Cons: Printer came defective and I had to return to Newegg.com for replacement and paid for shipping....RMA process took about a week and I received replacement WORKING printer....Very happy with it....Too bad I got a lemon the 1st time.
Pros: I unpacked it, plugged in the ethernet and power cords, and was printing on the Vista box in 5 minutes with the CD drivers. It took a few more minutes under Linux because the CD drivers didn't work. A few minutes with Google found the solution, though. All told, I was doing duplex printing in und...
Cons: The Linux drivers on the CD didn't work. Good drivers were fairly easy to find though. The printer is also fairly heavy for it's size.
