Summary: Replaced our old Samsung color laser with this one. It's been great! It's VERY fast, especially the first page! It's quiet. It doesn't make a burning smell. It's small (compared to the old Samsung). The output looks great. We don't print THAT much color, so all the complaints about toner prices haven't hit yet. All in all, I'm very happy with it.
Summary: As the owner of a new startup small business, I knew I needed to make an impact to get customers' attention. Our product is market research and advice - only about a million other firms compete with us! we've emailed clients with copies of our reports, but these days folks get so much email that I wasn't sure it was terribly effective. We'd get confirmation a few folks had opened the emails but that was it. Very little response or feedback.
I highly recommend this Lexmark c544 color laser printer.

Summary: The Lexmark c544 is an outstanding network color laser printer. It was easy to install on a network with XP, Windows 7, and Windows 7 x64 all sharing this fast, crisp, quiet workhorse. We were sharing a networked color inkjet. It died after a year. As did the inkjet before it. Now we have an utterly reliable color laser printer. The quality of the inkjet was very good, we thought, with photo quality graphics. The color laser amazed us with life-like graphics.
Summary: This printer replaced a 5-year-old Lexmark C534 which was simply not worth throwing money at anymore, as replacement toner was unbelievably expensive. This printer uses a different type of toner cartridge which is far cheaper to produce, and therefore will always cost less compared to the old printer. This is still a color laser printer however, which will always cost more then any inkjet printer.
Summary: I did a substantial amount of research when my Konica Minolta color laser started acting up. So many reviews led to a Lexmark and I knew what I was looking for in speed, etc. The true love comes from it working without hiccups in the long haul. So far, its a winner!
Summary: First a disclaimer. I have 25 years experience supporting various hardware and software, so minor technical issues that put other users off are usually easy for me to resolve. I selected this printer specifically to replace my 8 year old every-day medium duty Monochrome laser, a Samsung 2151n that had begun to error out on the occasional print job.
Summary: OK. It's true--there are cheaper and faster printers out there. But, when you factor in the toner costs over a few years and a few thousand pages, along with the time you'll spend fighting with the other printers and their issues (don't think I've forgiven you, HP!), this printer wins. It took 15 minutes from the printer's arrival on my doorstep to the first pages being printed, and that was mostly because I wanted to finish my lunch first.
Summary: Everything I expected, easy to set up and perfect for a small home office. The Duplex printing is a nice feature to have on any printer. Some may complain that it prints one side then pulls it back in for side two, but it's good for low volume and for the money and quality I really can't complain. A little power hungry when in use and will cause some printing noise, but most printers do.
Summary: Two great features: (1) Quality is fabulous. It prints great detail like lace clothing in photos. It prints best metalic colors I have seen from a color laser printer. Color balance is excellent too. (2) Totally silent in standby mode! You don't even know it's on. It does seem to take a little slow (a minute or so) to process large images compared to big office color lasers. Probably the same as other color lasers in its class.
