Summary: Received the printer yesterday. Easy to set up. Print quality unacceptable - half the page was smudged. Have asked for a replacement - will review replacement separately. Received the new printer. Set it up again. Works fine. Printing quality seems good (using the quality test settings). Will use different weight papers to test print quality.
Summary: I would love to give this a 5-star review from the start, but because of the setup and early operation problems I had I just can't. I do wonder if some of the problems might be attributed to Amazon--no proof of that!--but I do suspect I got a slightly used printer, perhaps one of those returned by the dismayed fellow reviewing below. First problem out of the box: No printer cable. All documentation in their manual say a cable should have been included.
Summary: I just spent two hours with Lexmark tech support regarding printing in Black and White using the Mac OX Driver. They have told me in no uncertain terms, that you can only do this with a Windows driver. SO the cost of my consumables just went way up. Unlike the previous reviewer, duplex printing is insanely fast. He might want to try printing at 1200 DPI instead. If someone figures how to print in black and white, post a review and i'll send you my email address.
Summary: After a reload of the OS, my old HP laser was no longer compatible with my Mac computer, so I went looking for a color laser that did duplex printing (trying to be a bit green). My use is at home for personal as well as some business printing. The set up was easy and the instructions clear. Printing in B&W single sided is fast and of high quality. I find the color printing to be a bit muted and not photo-like, but still acceptable.
