Summary: please dont buy any color laser printer from lexmark, this company's color laser printers have many parts that you need to replace ever few thousand pages in order to work, this makes these printers very very expensive to use. we have three of C544 in 20000 pages, we replaced PC-UNITs twice, now they need print head ($220 part).
Summary: I purchased this printer in 2012. I have had constant problems with this printer. Lexmark has replaced it 4 times!!!! Each replacement had the same problems. Finally after a year of problems they refused to fix the fourth replacement printer because the original purchased printer was no longer covered by the 1 year manufacturer's warranty. This company is dishonest and they manufacture garbage products. Save your money and stay away from Lexmark products!!
Lexmark would rather lose a customer than respond to problems

Summary: I had a great experience with this printer for the first several months, then printing through a network router suddenly stopped working. I spent 3 hours on the phone with a consultant who concluded that the network card was faulty. He said he'd send a replacement part. Two days later, a new printer arrived, but it was not really a replacement: it came with a warning about unpacking the new printer carefully, taking certain items out of the old printer and putting them...
Summary: Did a lot of research and there was a lot to recommend the Lexmark 544. Unfortunately, the reason I bought the printer was to print laser transfers for a home business. I tried 4 different types of transfer paper and each one was an absolute mess. The toner would not even adhere to the paper in most cases and when it did there were also multiple "ghost" images as well. Emailed Lexmark support and they replied that the printer is not made to use with transfer paper.
Summary: Suggest looking for a different printer. We have had the Lexmark C544dn for four days and I can not get it to stop jamming. We have printed a total of 600 pages through the machine and at the moment it jams on average every five pages. Every job we send to the printer requires keeping the source pdf open and sort through the good a bad pages to figure out what needs to be reprinted - very time consuming. We can not hit print and walk away from the machine.
Summary: The Printer does not Print!!!! We opened this printer immediately -- and we are technically highly experienced. From the beginning the page would not print properly -- the right 1/3 was fine, the middle came out only in blotchy fuschia and orange and the left 1/3 only in black and white.
Summary: I've had this printer for six months and am punting it. The set up was quite simple, and the print quality is fine, when it works. It is incredibly slow and seems to have a mind of its own regarding when it will grant my wish to produce a document. Today it just stopped working altogether and beeps but otherwise is dead. The troubleshooting guide says a service call is required when this happens. I'm just cutting my losses and moving on. Stay away from this dud.
Summary: Every time I print on this printer, the pages get scrunched up and the pages are out of order. When new pages are printed, they push against the previously printed pages, sometimes going under them, sometimes going over them, sometimes pushing the previous pages so they flip over, and often scrunching up the pages. I end up having to spend a lot of time manually sorting the pages.
Summary: After three attempts at receiving a machine that both worked properly and was complete, I gave up on Amazon/Lexmark and purchased a Dell 3130cn. It works fine but needs pricey accessories to be comparable.
