Summary: please dont buy any color laser printer from lexmark, this company's color laser printers have many parts that you need to replace ever few thousand pages in order to work, this makes these printers very very expensive to use. we have three of C544 in 20000 pages, we replaced PC-UNITs twice, now they need print head ($220 part).
Summary: I purchased this printer in 2012. I have had constant problems with this printer. Lexmark has replaced it 4 times!!!! Each replacement had the same problems. Finally after a year of problems they refused to fix the fourth replacement printer because the original purchased printer was no longer covered by the 1 year manufacturer's warranty. This company is dishonest and they manufacture garbage products. Save your money and stay away from Lexmark products!!
Lexmark would rather lose a customer than respond to problems

Summary: I had a great experience with this printer for the first several months, then printing through a network router suddenly stopped working. I spent 3 hours on the phone with a consultant who concluded that the network card was faulty. He said he'd send a replacement part. Two days later, a new printer arrived, but it was not really a replacement: it came with a warning about unpacking the new printer carefully, taking certain items out of the old printer and putting them...
Summary: little disappointed at myself that I did not research it enough before I hit buy button. this printer is really fast and wifi works great but it lacks all the other features such as scanning. I wished I had selected something different like a better all in one printer. it is pretty big so the size is an issue, but I picked it because I really needed a good reliable printer. It has lasted about 3 months with about 3 to 4 times a week usuage.
Summary: Replaced our old Samsung color laser with this one. It's been great! It's VERY fast, especially the first page! It's quiet. It doesn't make a burning smell. It's small (compared to the old Samsung). The output looks great. We don't print THAT much color, so all the complaints about toner prices haven't hit yet. All in all, I'm very happy with it.
Summary: Did a lot of research and there was a lot to recommend the Lexmark 544. Unfortunately, the reason I bought the printer was to print laser transfers for a home business. I tried 4 different types of transfer paper and each one was an absolute mess. The toner would not even adhere to the paper in most cases and when it did there were also multiple "ghost" images as well. Emailed Lexmark support and they replied that the printer is not made to use with transfer paper.
Summary: As the owner of a new startup small business, I knew I needed to make an impact to get customers' attention. Our product is market research and advice - only about a million other firms compete with us! we've emailed clients with copies of our reports, but these days folks get so much email that I wasn't sure it was terribly effective. We'd get confirmation a few folks had opened the emails but that was it. Very little response or feedback.
I highly recommend this Lexmark c544 color laser printer.

Summary: The Lexmark c544 is an outstanding network color laser printer. It was easy to install on a network with XP, Windows 7, and Windows 7 x64 all sharing this fast, crisp, quiet workhorse. We were sharing a networked color inkjet. It died after a year. As did the inkjet before it. Now we have an utterly reliable color laser printer. The quality of the inkjet was very good, we thought, with photo quality graphics. The color laser amazed us with life-like graphics.
Summary: Not a lot to add to what is on other reviews which I think fairly describe the pro's and con's of this printer. This printer replaces a Xerox 8500 which broke down and would have cost more than the Lexmark C544DN to repair. The Xerox color was subpar, especially compared to the Lexmark, which I hope will maintain its color accuracy.
