Summary: Let me first preface my review. I am looking specifically at what it can do and how well it does it in relation to it's competitors. My experience with printers is extensive. I research printer's capabilities before homing in on the one that I want and need.

Summary: I work from home, and I'm often emailed large pdfs (200-300 pages) of a mixture of photographs and text which I then have to print off to take to clients. I bought this printer about three years ago, and have printed a couple of hundred pages a week since.
Summary: Fast printing printer. It has very good quality print. Only negatives for me are that I do prefer a larger paper tray and also the printer is fairly large (Looks like made for commercial use). But apart from that it is very easy to install and use, also very easy to change ink cartridges.
Summary: The C540n is a heavy lump but neat and compact for what it is. I spent the best part of a day printing and comparing a test sheet of photos and graphics previously used for a brochure, which I then compared to the screen and the finished (hi quality) brochure. I also noted the print times for each.
Summary: Good output but I needed to install two Win XP drivers for this printer: the regular one (PCL5) and the Postscript 3 (PS3) one. The latter is needed in order to print out PDF documents at a reasonable speed. I downloaded the drivers from the lexmark uk website.
Summary: I purchased this to replace an aging Lexmark SC1275 Color Laser. It arrived very quickly, in fact the next day and was well packaged. Took 5 Minutes to unpack and remove travelling restraints. Took even less time to install drivers on multiple operating systems.
Summary: I bought this to replace an elderly HP 2050 colour Laser. The Lexmark is much better. The print quality is excellent, really crisp. The printer was a bit of a pain to set up as you have to dismantle the whole thing to remove the packaging pieces - you've definitely got to read the instructions for...
