Terrible Printer - Stay Away
C. Titzer, Amazon
10 January 2008
Summary: I've had this printer for about a year. Worked fine for the first month or two, then it started overheating after about 5 pages printed at a time. Useless Konica Minolta tech support said it's a "spooler issue" with Windows XP, which is definitely not the case. If I waited a few minutes, then printed another 5 or so pages, it prints fine... if I don't wait it will return an error. Tech support refused to RMA the printer because they said the problem had to do with my OS.
Summary: PRO's: This is a great little laser printer if all you need to do is print out text. I have had the printer for well over a year and have printed thousands of pages without a problem. It prints quickly. It is cheap to purchase and operate. CON'S Print quality of pictures and graphics is very poor (lots of lines). Paper jams can be difficult to unjam because of the way the machine is built.
Summary: Appalling for printing graphics, prints text OK **when it works**. I had printed a couple of hundred pages with this printer when it started showing horizontal lines across the page. Bought a new toner and now it only works when it feels like it. Most of the time it won't recognise the chip on the toner. Had the toner repaired & it still get an almost constant no CSIS error. Does print occasionally but should work all the time! Stay away from this printer. It's rubbish.
Summary: Bought it for $65 on sale. Already burned over 1000 pages. First cartrige is good for about 1000 pages. That's a total cost of about 6.5 cents per page. Compared to inkjets at about 15 cents to 20 cents per page, that's quite a savings. Replacement cartriges are good for 2000 copies and cost about $55, so the cost drops to less than 3 cents per page. Quality is excellent for business typ work.
Summary: I got this one on sale for only 59.00 I found toner for it on google for 39.00. It does a great job with print.("It's Fast!") Does a good job with shades of gray, but for photos it could be a little better, but then that all depends on how good your photos are, some print better than others. For the price it's worth it. I would use this over a ink jet printer any day !!!
Summary: After yet another frustrating episode with an older Epson inkjet printer, I picked this little fella up on sale. If you just need clean, crisp, black and white printing, this is a good choice. I have had no operating concerns with it - it does what it claims to do. It isn't the fastest out there, it doesn't have the best resolution for graphics, but for my needs it is perfect.
Summary: I bought this little laserjet to print transparencies but the output quality of the graphics is very poor even with the resolution set to 600x1200 dpi. For text it is very good, fast, easy to set up and reliable. No USB cable included which seems to be the standard now. Would I recommend it?
