Summary: I bought this printer new about 2 years ago. It was clunky and temperamental. I only used the printer for research topics off the internet. I think I got around 3000 pages when it started with, 'No [name your color] cartridge installed' when in fact the tone was still half full, then the page misfeeds, and the leaking toner (probably from the vibration caused by the carousel toner cartridge dock), and the page smudging and the streaks on the print outs and; I can go on...
Summary: I've owned this printer for several years and it is a decent printer. It is a bit bulky, a little slow, and a little loud and clunks a bit when it prints, but it is good quality and I've never had any problems with it. I've used aftermarket toner and toner refills but the best quality comes from the original toner cartridges.
Summary: This printer was quirky and malfunctioned quite a bit in the early years of ownership, and it only got worse with age. The biggest issues with this printer were always the same. First, if you have a power outage or glitch, the printer would lose its memory and would continuously tell you cartridges were missing, even though they weren't. It could literally take hours of cleaning contacts and opening and shutting the top to get it to reset itself properly.
Summary: The Konica Minolta 2430DL was my printer of choice when compared to many of the other color printers out there for a multitude of reasons... 1) The printer setup is relatively simple. As others have said, make sure the green tabs are down and there will not be any smudging. (Mine have always been down) 2) The networking capability of the printer is a big benefit (*it is not wireless) but since my main computer and this printer are in the same room I have the printer...
Summary: I had bought this printer when it was much more expensive about 4-5 years ago. In the past couple of years, I kept getting the "front cover open" which according to fixya.com is an indication that some type of pin which gets triggered when the cover closes, got broken somehow. I would end up having to open/close the cover multiple times before the message went away and would be allowed to print. Now the problem is that the paper isn't getting picked up.
TAKES 10 MINUTES FOR DRIVER TO INSTALL IN VISTA-!@#@

Summary: Had this in hot storage for like three years took it out and it printed the internal test page without a hitch. That's impressive. Unfortunately I cannot get the network drivers to work... maybe my Vista box is jacked up. Windows is notoriously lousy at being able to "heal" itself when it's internals are *for whatever reason* not working (who knows why Vista print internals even could get messed up.) So count out the TCP/IP install for now.
Awesome Printer for the money - needs some education though

Summary: I bought a re-furbished model 2 or 3 years ago. My wife and I use it to print out color business cards - then we have Kinko's cut the heavy card stock. It's not a perfect process as the printer curls the heavy card stock paper a lot. So you have to "un-bend" it before bringing it to Kinko's for cuts. You also have to use a program that leaves explicit cut marks for them to line up their cutter. But the resulting business cards have been great.
Summary: I have a small business. Over the years I've owned over 30 printers.. starting with dot matrix. I bought 2 Konica Minolta printers from Sam's Club. The first broke 1 month out of warrenty. I've had nothing but trouble from the 2430DL. It is absolutely the worst printer I've ever purchased... I'll never buy another Konica-Minolta brand of ANYTHING.
Summary: My decision in buying this model K-M Color Laser is because I already own in use by my MACpro. Having been pleased with it, when I saw this one at a bargain price, no hesitation, got one for use with my PC. The best I can say is that I like it, I am very satisfied with it. It is used for all my regular needs for color printing. For my photographic work, I use my HP Designjets.
Summary: I purchased a Konica Minolta 2430DL for personal use from Costco. I think I got it at a very good price. The printer worked great out of the box. As a matter of fact, the printer worked great for perhaps eight or ten months down the line. It is noisy. As it rotates through each color you hear a big "thunk", which means four "thunks" every time it prints. The noise didn't bother me though, and the print was really sharp.
