Summary: Set it up, on boot up it displayed a fatal error code H16. Powered down and re-tried. same condition came up. Requested and received a return authorization. Printer was returned, but the original supplier claimed it was not the printer originally shipped. This was a lie !!!
Summary: I've owned this printer for several years and it is a decent printer. It is a bit bulky, a little slow, and a little loud and clunks a bit when it prints, but it is good quality and I've never had any problems with it. I've used aftermarket toner and toner refills but the best quality comes from the original toner cartridges.
Summary: My decision in buying this model K-M Color Laser is because I already own in use by my MACpro. Having been pleased with it, when I saw this one at a bargain price, no hesitation, got one for use with my PC. The best I can say is that I like it, I am very satisfied with it. It is used for all my regular needs for color printing. For my photographic work, I use my HP Designjets.
Summary: The printer worked fine..........for about a month. It made good copy to begin with..............for about a month. Then the problems started. It would give an error message indicating that the "Black" toner cartridge was not installed. Of course you open the lid and take out the black toner cartridge and replace it. Then you get the error message that the "Cyan" toner cartridge is not installed, and you repeat the process.
Summary: This is a decent printer as far as quality goes, but it's way too fussy. Took me quite alot of trouble shooting to get the drivers installed, hooked up, and printing properly. When I say "quite alot" I mean several attempts over several days. Finally I got it working, and it worked well for about a week. But then another week when by where I didn't print anything, and when I finally went back to print something, it had stopped communicating with my computer again.
Summary: This printer was purchased so that I wouldn't have to wait 12-16 weeks for the replacement parts to arrive from the factory. I had just replaced all of the toner cartridges on my 2430 printer when it broke down. I used ebay as a parts solution instead of the manufacture. I found a local authorized service center and asked what the lead time was on parts for that type of printer and decided I couldn't wait that long.
Summary: This printer was impressive once I got it up and running (took some time and head-scratching) with my Windows XP operating system. I purchased the printer around June of 2005 and have worked it hard for my business, printing everything from daily invoices and shipping labels to thick card stock and transparencies. Card stock is only reliable about 70% of the time, and you have to hand-feed it to avoid jamming.
Summary: I have been using this printer for a few weeks and so far I'm thrilled. It's compatible with Mac OS X, Windows (from 95 to XP) and Linux, has built-in network support and a PictBridge connector in front. The best part is how lightweight it is for a color laser printer. It also has a very small footprint. Inkjets are often deceptive in that respect, because they require a lot of space in front and back for the paper holders; the 2430DL does not need any of that.
