A NIGHTMARE

razzamatazzboca, Ebay
23 February 2014
  • Summary: RUN- dont walk away from this printer. I've owned 2 bought new and they are HP's red headed step child. I would love 2 give it LESS than 1 star. Major problems. Printheads last 1 year and cost $65 each to replace- so 4 printheads = $260. And even with a new printhead installed, the printer will tell you to replace the printhead- it's faulty. It uses 8 separate ink tanks and each one is $38.95 = over $300 to refill all 8 inks. It goes through ink like water.

I wish it was still in production instead of refurbishing a used one.

lightimpressions, Ebay
19 December 2013
  • Summary: Hewlett Packard's B9180 is considered by many to be the best Tabloid Printer ever made . This printer is unique not only in that it has individually replaceable Print Heads (Nozzles) independent from the 8 Color Ink cartridges , but in that it is the only Tabloid printer that has a built in Spectrophotometer that can maintain color fidelity by performing Closed Loop print color analysis and self calibration, without requiring user intervention, other than choosing self...

B9180 Spare parts

amarcuzzi56, Ebay
4 June 2010
  • Summary: Good for B&W printing. I dislike because the printer belong to "consumer category" even the model description said "Pro" its means no spare or service parts availability after warranty period. I bought this used one, to obtain the power supply in order to repair my other one. No International warranty policy.

HP B9180 an Excellent Quality Printer

John Creel, pcRUSH.com
30 March 2010
  • Summary: Comments about HP Photosmart Pro B9180 Photo Printer: This printer make excellent prints on a wide variety of paper types, glossy to cotton fiber and some handmade papers. Inks are a bit pricey, but print quality is worthy of higher ink prices for those who must print their own work.Only real drawback is[...]repairs and short warranty time. HP warrants the printer for 1 year. It will send you a refurbished printer in that first year, but then your stuck.
  • Pros: Accurate Colors, Easy Setup, Easy To Use, Great Contrast, Great Overall Quality, Sharp Tones & Colors
  • Cons: Pricey Ink Replacement, RepairsWarranty

HP B9180 - Beware of the Service Stall error!

ranunn2001, Ebay
15 December 2009
  • Summary: Although I like the design of this printer and its features seem excellent, I would recommend anyone thing of buying this printer check out the "Service Stall", This seem to be a common problem with this printer and even has a special area on the HP website describing it. Basically, if you cannot clear the error by powering off the printer, then it means there is a fatal hardware fault, and it needs to be returned to the factory.

Reccomend to anyone that prints photos!

  • Summary: Comments about HP Photosmart Pro B9180 Photo Printer: I love to create scrapbooks and this printer has helped with all my photo needs. If I don’t like something I can just start over where if I had to pay to get my photos developed I would be paying out the nose if I kept going back when I changed a print. I like being able to have that control. The colors are very vibrant and the printer is very fast.
  • Pros: Compact Design, Easy Setup, Easy To Use, Fast Print Time

I have searched high and low and have found that this is the best printer there is. I have my own scrap booking business and I am always printing out some type of picture. I don’t have one complaint at all! It was very easy to install, I have had no jams at all, and the picture quality is very good.
