"Don't buy it. Try another brand"
30 July 2013
Pros: It offers 2 sided printing. It is good for HP's profit and future ink sales.
Cons: comes with small ink cartridges & lots of bloatware built in, All software loads all the time, new ink cartridges run out quickly, Hard to buy new ink, labels are confusing. Ink evaporates while not in use
Summary: I only buy HP printers. This is absolutely horrible! At first I was impressed, but too many little glitches. If you run out of an ink cartridge, you cant fax, copy, go online....until you replace the cartridge. Very annoying since its NOT just a printer. All sorts of other things...slowwwww start up....too many to list. If your thinking about buying this, look at other HP products.
Summary: The printer would be a great printer if everything worked like it was supposed to. Unfortunately, the main reason that I bought the printer was for the wireless capabilities so that the whole family (three college students and two online parents). We could only get one laptop to connect, and I couldn't get my own office computer two rooms over to connect, despite effectively connecting it to the network. I can look at it, but I can't use it.
Summary: I bought this printer for light color photo's and in three months it does not work - it sits at the boot up process saying initializing! I turned it off 5-15 minutes reboot no good. When it did print it printed 4x6 every one or so, saying paper not in tray! I and I Had HP paper in it and ink! It was the worst buy ever! I will never buy another HP printer again!
Summary: I ordered this printer and when I received it and set it up, I received an error messgge that there was an illegal printhead installed and to contact the manufacturer. I called HP customer service and answered the questions and read the various error messages the printer was displaying. I was informed by the CS agent that the printer had been used, was out of warranty and did indeed have an illegal printhead installed.
Summary: I initially gave this seller a very poor rating. The product I received was, I felt, possibly not new. I,however, did not open it to find out, because there would be a $20. restocking fee if I did open it and I felt that the package was so taped up that there was a good chance it had been returned to them by someone else. After contacting Amazon and the seller, we returned the printer as "refused" and were promptly refunded the full purchase price, including shipping.
Summary: This printer is of much poorer quality than any HP printer that I have ever owned. It is noisy, way too slow, expensive to run and many times will not work with my laptop. If I could give it back, I would. I have been a big fan of HP for years and have purchased several of their laser printers for my stores, but this unit is a huge miss in terms of design and functionality.
Summary: It only it had worked as we had hoped an HP high end printer would doWe did a lot of research before we purchased this printer in the hopes that we had chosen the highest quality photo printer with all in one scanning capabilities. We have been using the unit for a little over a year with mixed results. The first couple of photos turned out very nice quality and printed quickly.
Summary: I'm an ex-HP Printer fan but giving it one more shot. I've owned HP printers for a long time, but the J6480 I previously purchased really stunk. I purchased this over a Canon because, at the price point, HP had FAX capabilities and Canon didn't. Pros: - Quality packaging. Even though the box was mangled in transit, the printer itself and all of its accessories were in perfect shape. - Photo print quality is very good.
