Summary: I'll be honest -- when I brought this home and got ready to install it on our home network, I was fully prepared for an afternoon full of tweaking firewall settings, going through weird and archaic menu on my router, maybe sacrificing a chicken to the ethernet gods, and so on.
Summary: I waited a while for the price to come down on these and when it finally did, I jumped. My brother already owned one and he has done a ton of research before buying so I felt sure of my purchase. And what a great printer.
Summary: The price is falling and this is worth every penny. I needed to replace my printer in a hurry, and despite the set up time, I was very happy. This prints pics and docs well. Very useful. Many extras.
Summary: I have a bunch of 02 ink cartridges (new - unopened) after my Photosmart D7260 finally gave out. I bought a new printer that uses different cartridges. If anyone is interested in getting a good deal on 02 cartridges, leave a message.
Summary: Let me start off by saying if you need a photo printer this one is good. The prints come out great. They are very high res for an inkjet at this price point. But the quality doesn't stop at photo paper, it prints great documents on sheet paper, transparencies come out good, as well as on card stock.
Summary: There are so many printers on the market that are doing a solid job, and the Photosmart D7260 is one of them. I have not had a single problem with this unit. The touchscreen is intuitive and sharing this printer over the network couldn't be simpler.
Summary: I bought this printer from a Brick and mortar vendor. This printer's prints are pristine - excellent quality prints from this printer for the price. While I haven't tried printing anything in B&W like resumes this printer lives up to its photo printer heritage.
Summary: Driver installation via HP cd on the 1st networked pc (Vista HP) was a snap but driver installation on the 2nd pc (Vista Ultm) was a PITA. Finally after comparing printer preferences on the 2 systems I realized that the incorrect driver was installed on the Ultim. system.
Pros: Very decent 4x6 photos. Great for a cheap network printer. Seems to be well built.
Cons: Plain paper text printing could be better. For some reason getting the proper driver installed on a 2nd Vista (Ultimate) system on my home network was a bit of a pain. Blank pages would print at the start of a print job and in between multi page documents and anything but letter sized paper print...
Excerpt: I bought this because I wanted a network attached printer with an auto double sided capability and I wanted good colour printing. OK, the double sided bit works fine usually, the colour printing is good unless you want to print photos!! The netwoprk support is absolutely appalling.
Pros: Double sided printing
Cons: Lousy software, poor print quality for photos !
