) It's really too bad that it's so poorly constructed

Summary: Only giving one star because zero is not an option. I have had this printer for years and it has never worked right. Search for paper feed d7260 and you will find all kinds of people having problems getting this thing to recognize that there is paper in the tray. I think in the years I have owned it, I've managed to print a total of 20 pages and yet still went through three sets of ink cartridges. My next color printer will be a Lexmark.
Summary: Nothing but problems. Won't install, software installs things that it doesn't ask if you would like, bunch of crap. I would avoid almost all HP home printers until they get their act together.
Summary: It prints well. it prints text very quickly. The printouts generally look good and it doesn't jam at all. These are the good point about the printer. The reason that I really hate this printer is because it feels like asks for a new ink cartridge every few days. about a week ago it asked for a couple of new cartridges. I went out and bought them, and came back and installed them and then it asked for a new black one. (which it didn't before.
Don't Buy - Eats ink, jams paper and HP Customer Service is awful

Summary: I purchased this printer (HP Photosmart D7260) in 2008 and I have not been happy. I do not recommend you buy this printer unless you want the best in home picture printing. You will be paying top dollar for HP Vivera ink and HP Premium paper and you are ill advised to try and use the printer for every day printing (slow, noisy and it is not intuitive to get it to successfully handle any non-standard prints like envelopes, address labels very well).
Summary: Yes the prints are very good and it is fast... but that's it. This printer will continually jams (read other reviews) and it refuses to print envelopes. Then when it jams the paper you have to go to the back of the machine and open it, pry out the jammed paper and then put the cheaply design door back on. What a hassle.
Software crashes my computer and printer stopped working!
17 September 2008
Summary: I bought this printer 6 weeks ago and it has only worked properly for the past two weeks until today, when it quit printing. At first I could not get it to connect to my network after installing and re-installing the software. I called HP support and they had me upgrade my memory on my computer since the program made my computer run slow and crash. On the second call to HP we were able to get it to work after "3 hours" on the phone!!!
Summary: I PURCHASED THIS PRINTER AND IT WOULD NOT INITIALZE INK,I CALLED HP SUPPORT AND WAS TOLD TO GET A LINT FREE CLOTH AND A BOTTLE OF WATER (NOT TAP WATER)AND TO WIPE THE CONTACTS ON THE CARTRIDGES,I DID IT STILL WOULD NOT INITIALIZE I TOLD THE AGENT THAT IT WOULD NOT INITILIZE PERHAPS INK WAS BAD IF THEY COULD REPLACE THE INK ,HE TOLD ME THAT THE INK THAT COMES WITH NEW PRINTERS IS A SPECIAL INITIZING INK AND COULD NOT BE REPLACED AND THAT I SHOULD RETURN THE PRINTER AND...
Summary: Don't waste your money on this printer. It eats ink very quickly. As soon as one of the cartridges runs out of ink (which seems to happen entirely too often) it won't print anything, even in black ink. This has happened to me too many times... I'm planning to throw it out and get something else. I have never been happy with the quality of pictures is prints either. The first sheet out always has colors that are way off, the second sheet looks better...
