Summary: Like many of the others, I have had nothing but problems with this printer since day one. It shuts itself off constantly and then says printer was turned off improperly. You have to unplug it and plug it back in over and over again to get it to stay on.
Wonder why HP is one of the most hated comanies in America?

Summary: HP may be the leader in home printers, but that just shows Americans will buy anything. Printing text with this printer is fine, and graphics are reasonably good. The software makes it fairly easy to use, and output is pretty quick. This comes at a price.
Summary: My heart sinks every time I have to use this piece of rubbish. Where shall I start... Every time i go to print it is a lottery as to whether the printer will still be online or decided to shut down.
Summary: This printer does have its pros. However, now that I have owned it over 2 years and have printed hundreds of pages (but not thousands), I can honestly say that it is not one to keep. Pros: - for text, once it starts printing, it is acceptably fast. - photographic prints are very detailed and nice.
Summary: If you need a way to dispose of a lot of expensive ink, I highly recommend this unit. You will spend a lot of time trouble shooting and money on ink. You might even get a few of pictures out of the deal.
Summary: Not only does it suck up ink but it also died only 1 1/2 years later. I was in the middle of printing when I got "Ink System Failure", little did I know it was the kiss of death. I've had HP printers last years to say the least they've lost a customer.
Summary: I have seriously never been more disgusted with a printer and the reason for its final demise. I've had countless printers for various work that I've done and still have several. I bought this one for its ability to print onto the face of discs directly.
Summary: I bought this printer in August of 2009; I wish I had know then what I know now, this printer is not worth the money you pay for it. It loves ink, when you hit the print key, it will go through a sequence of cleaning the cartridge's and making lots of noise.
Summary: When this printer actually prints, the quality is great, but it is not a robust machine and mechanically it's a poor design with the wraparound paper path exhibiting problems with photo paper - it may decide not to transport it correctly.
Summary: So HP sent me this printer as an exchange after my older one went out. I really didn't want this printer after reading the reviews. I was right. The ink cartridges dried up within a month or two. everything i printed had white strips. to fix this you can do a self clean which uses a lot of ink.
