Summary: This is a nice little photo printer. I bought it to take with me when we visit relatives during Christmas. I've had it for more than a year now and it still works just fine. You can print out a few photos right on the spot and give to family. Ink is a little expensive so it is cheaper if you have a bunch of photos to have those developed at your favorite photo place, but you don't get instant and portable with those options.
Pros: when it did print the photos were above average quailty. I printed better pictures at Bartell Drug Store
Cons: Received the error message, CARTRIDGE ERROR, and wouldn't clear. Contacted HP and there resolution was, printer life cycle is over and to buy a new printer. Printer cartridges are way to expensive compared to other printers on the market.
Summary: This is a great printer with lots of fun features, but the ink is far to expensive to use for your everyday printing needs. I estimate that the prints cost me about $1.20 per print. I can take my SD card to the corner drug store and have them printed for less than half that amount. If I had known the ink was so expensive, I never would have purchased this printer. Next time I will do my homework.
This kitty loves the printer, but the ink belongs in the litter box

Summary: I bought this printer to replace an old HP, a display model bought off the floor at Office Depot 4?? years ago. The old printer and cartridges easily printed 100+ pix with no loss of quality--but, it finally died. I really like the large view screen, editing choices and print quality of the A636, however it came with just a starter cartridge that only printed 2 test sheets, 1 good pix and then ran out of blue ink.
