Summary: purchased a used refurbished 8450 printer. Love it. I did not find a new one I like so I went looking for a printer like the one I had. My old printer had almost 10,000 copies on it - a real work horse.
Summary: My last printer died after 10 years (exact model). I'm not happy with the printers on the market, so someone still had one of these still in the box. I don't know why HP decided to do away with this printer, but it is excellent, prints fantastic pictures.
Summary: I couldn't believe that I could find a replacement for my old HP 8450 printer. I absolutely love it! Was able to plug it right in using the existing hook-up wiring. It was recognized and ready to go without downloading the software.
Summary: My 8450 printer is almost 9 years old, and still works perfectly, producing the best photo prints of anything I've seen outside of a professional photo lab. It is definitely the BEST printer I have ever owned. But be advised that Microsoft has been slow to provide drivers for Windows 7.
Summary: I purchased this printer to replace the same one I owned previously which was damaged due to a faulty ink cartridge. The product was shipped quickly and arrived exactly as it was described. In a matter of minutes it was up and running and doing just fine.
Summary: I purchased this printer sometime in late 2004 when my old, can't even remember model, just didn't cut it anymore. I'm writing a review now because someone may end up looking to purchase a used model and the fact that I still use mine. I don't suspect my review will get too many reads.
Summary: I purchased the HP 8450 about a year and a half ago. I see complaints in other reviews about the speed and the cost of ink, but if you were to send photos off to a photo lab, not only would it take more time and money but the quality would not be any better.
