Old Damaged product

Shelley, Amazon
25 September 2013
  • Summary: Advertized "new". It is definitely not anywhere near new. It looks like its been in a moist cellar for years, the tape on the box is yellow and no longer sticks to the box. Most of the box was damaged (probably before it was shipped). and the styrofoam is in pieces that surround the printer. The ink looks like its very old, the packaging is shrunk to the ink cartridge. Very dissatisfied with this seller.

Damaged box. Printer does not work.

Dena Harrison, Amazon
9 January 2013
  • Summary: The box was extremely damaged upon arrival. I would not have cared, but the printer shows a "card error". The same card works in another HP Photosmart Compact printer that I used. The same error message came up for other cards as well. I have asked for a return label. I will order another printer.

Paper Jams Frequently..Save your money!!

johnbog22, Ebay
4 May 2011
  • Summary: This has to be one of the worst digital photo inkjet printers on the market today. The first day I received this printer was a nightmare. First of all, I was not aware of the fact that if you use any plain paper to feed into this printer the paper gets jammed frequently. Thus, you are out-of-luck. The manual does state however, to use photo paper which I had planned to purchase.

HP Printer

david a seely, Amazon
13 September 2010
  • Summary: The product was advertised as NEW. The price was very low. I should have known, if it sounds too good to be true, it is. The INK carriage hangs up and it will not print. The packageing was not as it would be for a NEW printer. I did not package it up and send it back because the shipping to a supplier that would present a USED product as NEW would probably not respond. Just wrote it off as a learning experiance.

Worst Service EVER!!

Monae, Amazon
15 January 2007
  • Summary: I got this printer last year as a present. The printer worked well at the time, although it ate up A LOT of ink. Then I went to use it for the first time in a few months and all it would flash was a error message. I called, but they wanted me to pay just to TALK to someone about the problem.

Not durable...scam artists at customer support

C. Malone, Amazon
8 October 2006
  • Summary: We bought our photosmart printer about eight months ago and it recently started having paper jam problems. We have probably printed about 40 pictures on it total. The problem go so bad it would not print anymore. We called technical support and they said that it was a "software" problem and that the printer's warranty for software issues is only 90 days. They wanted $59 to fix the problem.

Regional coding

A Customer, Amazon
22 October 2005
  • Summary: I cannot recommend HP to anybody anymore. The company introduced regional coding, which means printer cartridges from one region cannot be used in another. For most this is probably not an issue, for those busily traveling around it is. Also, it is an issue of principle, its bad enough for DVD, but printer cartridges? HP has introduced this rather secretely and if you don't read the box cover etc very carefully, you may not notice. The main issue is in Europe.
