Works great on home network with cheap print server
4 December 2009
Summary: I wasn't able to connect my LaserJet 1100 to my home network so my wife always had to turn on my computer to use it. But I bought the P1505 (NOT the P1505n) to replace the 1100 because I had a cheap Hawking H-PSU1 print server and figured I could use that to connect the printer directly to the network. Well, the incredibly inept HP support folks were of little help, with one rep proclaiming that this model ABSOLUTELY, POSITIVELY couldn't be networked.
Summary: This printer was purchased for occasional home printing. I was unhappy with ink-jets and the constant clogging of the jets from using the printer only once or twice a week. The HP P1505 prints great-looking crisp B&W documents. It duplexes for double-sided documents. It can sit for weeks and it starts right up and prints beautifully. The price point was excellent. I am very happy with it. It is being used on Ubuntu linux.
Summary: I just bought an HP P1505 yesterday and hooked it up to my Lenovo T61 notebook. The install was a bit time consuming, I thought & requires both a CD/ROM & an internet hookup. Par for the course, these days, I guess. But all went well and the first time I tried to print a doc from the internet, it happened & there were no glitches. There is no paper manual supplied; the manual is on the CD/ROM.
Summary: We are currently using several of these printers and first impressions are very good. The printer is nice and compact allowing it to sit neatly on a desk and yet can perform as well as some larger printers we also have. Made by HP the 1505 has the added advanatge of being a networked printer meaning you can add it to your home network and print from any computer connected to the network. This saves alot of hassle with connecting cables each time you want to print.
Pros: Fast speed, capable of holding 250 sheets of paper
Summary: This replaced my long-lasting and much-loved Samsung laserjet but I wasn't disappointed - this HP is a neat and compact design with a clever fold away paper tray. It has a really fast warm up time (hardly any wait at all really) and produces quick and good quality copies. It was easy to install too. The only downside is that it is a bit noisy and when it goes into action it scares my cats out of the room - actually you could say that's an extra advantage...
Great Printer - Ideal for small business or home use
16 June 2009
Summary: This is like the Office brought to your house! I would recommend this to anyone who is starting out in Business or has a high volume of printing (Black) to get through at home. This is compact - easy to use - quick to set up - good quality - easy to replace the cartridges - relatively good value for money - a reputable name! What more can you ask for!! Having recently set up working for myself from home (Part Time) I find this to be an excellent starting point!
Pros: Compact, Great Quality, Quick print time, Good value for money
Cons: Toner cartridges are slightly more expensive than inkjet, although last longer!
Excerpt: The H.P. LaserJet P1505 is an ideal desktop printer for the small or home office setup, great if you're fed up with the running costs of replacing ink cartridges in an ink based printer. The LaserJet P1505 is a small mono printer with a big toner cartridge so it won't take long to start saving money on running costs. Quality is good with crisp clean results. The P1505 is a very simple printer in every way, its easy to setup and use, there is also very little to go wrong.
