Summary: This printer has a serious design flaw that even HP eventually admitted to when trying to get support for it. We actually sent the first one back because HP support played dumb and said it was a defect in our specific printer. Well the replacement has the same problem. For normally everyday business printing this printer would probably work great, but if you are purchasing it to do full color prints, do not bother.
Speed and quality great but colors are dark and dull
15 July 2014
Summary: Colors come out too dark and unsaturated. I've been trying to print out a golden yellow and it comes out a dijon mustard brown. I design layouts for planners and although the print quality and speed is super awesome, this printer just lacks in the color area in general. I've tried changing the settings from Photo sRPG to Vivid Color and nothing works.
Excerpt: Ordered this printer for my boss. He is thrilled. Very efficient, and attractive. A good office work horse. I love that I ordered it at 4: 00pm and received it the very next day at 1: 00pm. Amazing!
Summary: I have made my living as a "printer"... no not like this item. I mean I run printing presses. I bought this printer to do my short run black and white work and some color jobs. I have several printers, both ink jet and lasers. The lasers are great for some things, but imaging on carbonless stock causes the paper to curl and makes padding difficult. That's where this printer shines.
Summary: Bought this to replace an old dying laser printer. I prefer a laser printer because they are normally cheaper per page to operate, however the specs on this printer looks to improve on this--too soon to tell though. Otherwise, it is fast and the print is sharp, setup took a bit of time but was easy. The full ream paper tray is a welcome feature, as is the auto duplex.
If you are a Mac user, install the HP drivers, do not use OS X's built-ins

Summary: On my Mac running Mavericks, I was experiencing completely off page registration (off by two inches) when using a 7.5" x 11" custom paper size and the standard autoconfigured OS X driver. This was fixed by installing the "Full Software Solution" drivers from HP's website. You also get much more control in the printer dialog.
