Summary: BE CAREFUL installing ink cartridges. If you bend the spring, it's at least $100 to buy a new print head. I haven't found a source for just replacement springs. Otherwise, the printer works great via USB, Ethernet, or wireless. Prints to Win7 and MacOS without needing to download drivers.
Summary: This printer is a great value. The ink is relatively inexpensive and has a large yield. Print quality is good for my use (CAD Drawings / Architectural Renderings). Photo quality isn't the best but still adequate. This printer is worth the money hands down.
Summary: I have had the Officejet Pro K8600 for about two year and like it a great deal. Presently, it will not print heavy tabloid paper as it once did. I would purchase the same printer; however, HP has discontinued it and the other companies are charging exorbitant prices.
Summary: I just got this HP K8600 printer at a great price from a local Office Depot. I guess it has been discontinued and they were closing it out. I was trying to decide between buying a color laser printer or ink jet. Color inkjets are less expense to buy but the ink cost is normally pretty high.
Summary: I have had a HP Deskjet 1220c for about 4 years and never had a problem, except for having to clean the platinum and guides a few months ago.. very reliable, fast, and excellent, photo quality prints with permanent Vivera inks.
Summary: I bought this printer for use at work - to replace an HP895cse that had worked for many years but was making noise and chewing up more ink than usual. I've only had the new 8600 for one day, but have a few useful comments.
Summary: Like previous reviewer, I am using it for printing on 11x17. It has been close to two years. Aside from a few paper jams and replacing ink (the unit uses more ink than I expected), I did not do anything else to it. It has already paid for itself considering the undr $200 cost, two years ago.
Summary: Not needing ten or twenty year archival quality prints I opted for a CISS (continuous ink supply system) The ink quality is excellent on the high gloss posters and tabloid books I print.
Pros: It does a fast job printing two sided tabloid sheets. The duplex attachment does a great job and is worth the extra money. The first page loads a little slowly, but the rest of the print run is very fast.
Summary: Wish it printed faster than it does. My old Canon i860 was a much faster printer for some reason.
Pros: Output is excellent. Colors are very true and if you need tabloid size printer this one fits the bill nicely. This is the version without the RJ45 port, so I made the connection by USB to CAT-5 extension.
Cons: Big! Surprisingly so. Make sure you have enough room for this thing. Ink tanks run dry faster than their large sizes would indicate.
Conclusion: HP officejet pro basically made for the offices where there are high number of prints required and the device is used all day long. comes with one year warranty from hp which is quite good and covers all.
