Best HP printer I have ever owned

JENNIFER HAYES, Amazon
17 June 2014
  • Summary: I feel compelled to write a review on this printer even though I have had it for over 6 years! I've never had a single problem with this printer. In fact, when it was brand new, I ran into the cord and it pulled the printer off my counter and it fell 3 feet onto a cement floor. It got a little banged up and I thought that would be the end of it. Not true, it just keeps on putting out great prints. It is my favorite printer of all time!!

Mediarocker543, CNET
8 May 2009
  • Pros: Fast printing, Realistic color matching, Beautiful photo prints, Handles my college work with ease, 500 Sheet feeder, and I RARELY have to refill it! Low TCO is great, I never have to worry about running out of ink in a jam!
  • Cons: The ink cartridges are too small for my liking, Although I've never ran out of ink in a jam. Lack of "Borderless" 8"x10"' prints

A good printer for the office

DeepPurple, Amazon
26 July 2008
  • Summary: I have used this printer for more than one year. It works perfectly. I have printed hundreds, may-be thousands, of pages and have experienced only one paper jam. Colors are may-be not perfect for pictures, but for office work it's OK. Caution : don't replace the cartridges when the red led lights. It's only to warn you that you should buy a replacement ink cartridge.

I must have gotten a good one!

Betty A., Amazon
11 August 2007
  • Summary: Reading all the negative reviews has me baffled. I've had this one for over a year and have had no problems at all. I just finished printing 300 sheets with about 30% color and they were all beautiful and printed very quickly. I do this all the time. As for the printer stopping when one of the colors runs out of ink, I think that is a PLUS. I don't like to remove cartridges when I am told they're running low. Ink is way too expensive. I let it run until it's empty.

Fast Business Printer

M. Davis "mcrach26", Amazon
9 May 2007
  • Summary: I bought this for my husband who has a home office which he uses to print mass quantities of sales brochures. It's incredibly fast, and we have had none of the problems that people have mentioned. I highly recommmend you buy the high capacity toner cartridges if you use this for a lot of printing.

Super fast and great quality

David Lindberg, Amazon
12 February 2007
  • Summary: I recently bought this machine and I think it is wonderful. I have been in the Epson inkjet camp for the past 4 years. But, each non-photo Epson Inkjet printer I have had dies at about 16 months. It was deciding on either the HP Officejet K550 $150 or HP Laserjet 2605dn $449. I decided on the K550 for the following reasons: 1. Price. You can't beat the $150 price tag. I bought the $29 2 yr extended warranty and even then the cost is still lower than $199. 2. Durability.
