Summary: Anyone I can save from falling into the HP trap with this printer is worth the effort to write this. This is undoubtedly the biggest piece of junk HP has yet to produce. I am trashing mine AND IT IS UNDER WARRANTY. I spent 3 hours, which now exceeds my time versus cost of the machine, received no reasonable help from HP other than non-English affluent attempts, received a defective "re certified replacement" unit, and a defective new print head, which did manage to work...
Did you see the movie "Office Space"? It's THAT printer.

Summary: My business depends heavily on reliable quality printing... I have yet to find a single task this printer does better (or even as well) as any of it's HP brethren. We need it to make black and white brochures, but it won't print in grayscasle without phantoms from the cropping... none of our other printers from HP or anyone else, has done this job so poorly...
Summary: I've owned several quality HP products over the years but this certainly wasn't one of them. Set up is a breeze but it simply wouldn't print. It jammed EVERY time I tried. Cheap paper, expensive HP paper, didn't matter. Replaced it with a 7520 which has performed flawlessly.
Excerpt: I've always hooked up my own printer - this was the worst. Ink levels didn't register after the initial set-up. For over an hour I attempted to print a photo on HP photo paper - it never took the paper and I continuously got a message that there was no paper in the machine. I finally tried a thinner photo paper and the results are not even close to what I always got from my HP Photosmart 8100 (Unfortunately it died on me after 9 years of hard work).
Summary: Ink: Biggest issue: HP totally misrepresents the ink that ships with the printer. On HP’s web site, where you go to get detailed information beyond that available on Amazon, they specify that it ships with standard retail ink cartridges. That implies that you are buying your first set of cartridges and getting the printer with them almost for free. Instead, the cartridges in the box are labeled starter cartridges.
Excerpt: This product is almost worthless. I wish I had not spent the money to buy it. I noticed at the register that there was not screen to lay documents on to make copies. The manager said, "you probably just use the same paper tray". No - it is not a copier. It does not scan - it's not a scanner It does not fax - it is not a fax. It is only a PRINTER. All you can do is print something from the computer.
