Summary: Have owned this printer for 1.5 years. It is the worst HP I have ever had. I had owned many of them. It spends more time cleaning itself and cycling back and forth than it does printing. It takes almost two minutes to print the first page, everytime I try to print. I have printed about 300-500 pages thru it, but have replaced ink cartridges at least a 10 times. It uses so much ink everytime you have to clean the head that it goes thru 1/2 a cartridge.
Summary: This printer has been nothing but trouble from day one. Nothing but apple or mac in our house and it was supposed to be compatible. Of course it worked up until the time had passed where I could not return it and then started going crazy! We installed directv, tried to run it through their equipment. Wasted hours with HP techs, Driectv techs, etc. Luckily we had applecare on a phone and they talked me through set-up.
Summary: Don't buy this printer under any circumstances! It has never worked well. It prints ok, but the first page can take any where from 15 seconds to 2 minutes! That's a lifetime when you are waiting for a page. The ink does not last long. But the worst part is the machine clicking, clacking, squealing, humming, grunting, as it tries to print. Yes, I cleaned the rollers. I've used a number of different printers over the years including HP, Canon, and Brother, Mac.
Summary: I got this printer in 2011 to replace a K550 which was a great printer, but, died in a shipping container... The 8000 as new, was a great printer, but, with with moderate printing for the past 3 years, it had gotten progressively more reluctant to print more than one page. I've followed the directions to cleaning, on several occasions, with no effect!!!
Summary: I bought this in impulse when it was on deep discount at Staples. Maybe it's because it was a floor model or something but I printed about three times over the course of a few months and then it needed more ink. And the ink for this costs a fortune.
Summary: Printer came complete and in good shape. The printer worked for the first 30 days then stopped working. Requested return and or exchange and was denied as the return request was 2 days past the warranty date of 30 days. Printer of this cost should last longer than 32 days. Very disappointing experience.
Summary: The best printer out of 30 or more I have owned, the last readout on the use information recorded in the printer memory was 3280 sheets of 20 LBS paper & Card-stock had been printed, also I have used less than $70.00 in ink. It produces great picture quality prints, however you must have a steady & careful hand at transferring the microchips out of the store bought cartages into the cartages that come with your auto refill ink system.
Summary: This thing has always been a problem. Shakes, makes strange noises and the ink cartridge cost is insane. Just replaced the black cartridge direct from HP and now this pos won't print color correctly. I don't know why I have put up with it for so long, but it is most assuredly my LAST HP printer.
Summary: Paper feed problems. Duplexer problems. Parts falling off the duplexer. Ink cartridges first go low, then empty, while I not even printing because of paper feed problems. So it quits trying to feed the paper. I have to buy more cartridges so I can debug the paper feed problem? This whole ink cartridge thing is such a rip-off.
