Excerpt: This printer worked exactly for what I wanted. I needed a wireless printer to be able to print from an iPod and this fit the bill perfectly. I initially had trouble getting the printer to recognize the iPod, but after loading an app for HP printing I was able to get it to work. It was easy to set up, even though we did have a little trouble with the paper mis feeding . However it has worked fine since then.
Excerpt: This was the easiest wireless printer I ever set up. I have one desktop and 5 notebook computers on my network. Just slipped the disc into my Windows 7 desktop and followed the on screen instructions and it worked first time. Then I searched the network for printers with the 3 laptops with Windows 7 and one with Windows 8.1. All 4 found the printer and it was working very quickly. The final noebook uses VISTA and this took slightly more effort.
Excerpt: So far so good. Only been running one day. Set-up was very easy with Wnidows 7 and Windows 8.1. XP and Vista had a little troble finding the printer on the wireless network. However after installing the driver on those computers all went well. Easiest wireless network printer set-up I ever did.
Summary: I keep buying HP printers because of the quality printing they produce. But the Office jet 6100 is disappointing and needs some serious rethinking for ease of use. The Office jet 6000 was so much more convenient to use as well as much quieter too. That all of the paper must be removed from the paper tray so that the paper guides can be moved to print an envelope is time consuming and annoying.
Excerpt: i bought this because I had a very old printer that wasn't printing some of my projects or pictures Can be used plugged in or wireless Have only had a few weeks so can't really comment on everything
Excerpt: The HP OfficeJet 6100 is a good buy for the money. It was quite easy to set up and offers a feature that I have never had on a printer. It has the ability to have its own email address thereby enabling you to send output to it from anywhere as long as it is connected to a network. I would definitely recommend it for use in the home or small office. The speed is better that iether of my other two printers and the one it replaced.
Excerpt: Bought as a backup while my All-in-one was suffering from ink problems. It was easy to set up and good crisp looking fonts. Just a good simple printer for the price. Doesn't have all the "bells and whistles." (i.e. fac, copy) Price is reasonable but have not need to buy cartridges. Has four individual ink carts. Has wireless but not tried and won't need. Use as USB.
