Got a great price on the printer

MICHAEL S MOSELEY, Amazon

  • Summary: Got a great price on the printer. But the 4 pack of ink replacement cost more than the entire printer. Plus you can not print 2 sided on this printer.

Very basic and may have a few glitches

Rusty Ranger, Amazon

  • Summary: You get what you pay for. I needed a cheap printer without any extras. This printer fit the bill. I didn't particularly care for small individual CMYK cartridges, like those found on Epson printers. It was my fault for overlooking this feature when I purchased it. Since the printer head is not on the cartridge, but on the machine, a nozzle clog would be difficult to repair.

It works fine as long as you put HP ink in

S. Penny, Amazon
23 July 2014
  • Summary: We own 2 of these printers for a small business that he uses on site. He prints a lot of pages per month. So he does everything in draft speed. It much faster and saves on ink. One machine is over a year old and the other is 2-3 months old. Here is the strange thing about them. I buy re-manufactured ink for the printers it's much cheaper! You save $$$. The older printer will take the re-manufactured ink but the new one will not.

very poor for my needs

dkpiano, Hewlett-Packard
24 June 2014
  • Summary: I was looking for a small, lightweight printer. This one was recommended because it fit those qualities. The other thing, most important thing, was speed. This printer is, without a doubt, the slowest printer I have ever used. I thought the K5400 was slow because it takes a long time for it to get started but it spits out prints very fast. The H6100 was just s-l-o-w-! At the end of two hours, I had less than 100 pages printed. That is just unacceptable.

UPDATE: Wireless stopped after 3 months

Jim C, Staples

  • Excerpt: HP phone support was great. Their tech took control of my PC remotely and fixed the problem. It took them about 45 minutes but I was watching the ballgame the whole time! I'll upgrade my review to 3 stars.

Fair to good

Deba2, Hewlett-Packard
7 June 2014
  • Summary: The printer seems to produce a fine print; no problems there. The ink cartridges don't seem to have a secure plug-in nest, and when the printer is in use it sounds like it's trying to tear itself apart. It is extremely noisy. By comparison, my old printer, an HP Deskjet 960 was reasonably quiet.

Poor quality

GeauxSouth, Hewlett-Packard
22 March 2014
  • Summary: I'm on my second Officejet 6100 - first one stopped printing, the second one fails to print often. This is the worst printer I've ever owned - I've never had this much trouble with a printer.

Good Value - Some features need improvement

LADesigner, Hewlett-Packard
24 February 2014
  • Summary: I keep buying HP printers because of the quality printing they produce. But the Office jet 6100 is disappointing and needs some serious rethinking for ease of use. The Office jet 6000 was so much more convenient to use as well as much quieter too. That all of the paper must be removed from the paper tray so that the paper guides can be moved to print an envelope is time consuming and annoying.

HP Office Jet Printer 6100

Bea, Staples
21 February 2014
  • Excerpt: This is the new version of my previous HP printer. This one is so slow. I think that it has stopped and it will go again for a few seconds and stop again. The previous one would continously print and no halting stops. I just don't understand why this could be happening. It has a great picture once it is finished but sure is flustrating.
  • Pros: Dries Quickly, Sharp Tones & Colors
  • Cons: Too Expensive
