Summary: This is not my first inkjet printer, and it won't be the last. But it has been the worst. This thing takes longer to clean itself than our cat does. But contrary to the cat, it is anything but quiet: Every other time I turned this printer on, or dared to print a page, the beast starts banging and rattling, shaking and slamming, clashing and clonking, jerking and jolting. For what feels like hours. I finally unplugged it for good. Peace at last.
Summary: DO NOT BUY THIS PRINTER. I only print in black-and-white, but the printer quickly runs out of color cartridges, then refuses to print because the color cartridge needs replacement. I refuse to buy another cartridge from HP, so the HP Officejet Piece of Junk 6100 goes into e-waste today. I only wish I could give this printer negative stars. Note to HP: It's bad business to rip off your customers by using color inks to print black-and-white.

Summary: I purchased this printer for college with the intention of using primarily black and white printing. This printer runs out of ink weekly and the replacement pack is over $60. This printer averages around 300-400 pages per cartridge while Brother laser averages over 1500-2500. Also will not let you print if you run out of any color. Rip Off.
Summary: Constant Noise, Constant Delay in Printing, Costly Ink Replacement with little use. This product is worthless for its intended purchase PRINTING, but is a perfect money maker for HP ink cartridge sales.
Summary: I can't even explain how many times I've contemplated throwing this piece of junk across the room. It uses TONS of ink. It takes approximately 10 minutes to print 1 page (no joke, I've timed it), and sometimes after it finally prints- half the words are cut off and didn't print correctly anyways. The wireless connection worked for about a week. I can't believe I've managed to function with this printer for so long. It is absolutely horrible.
Excerpt: I didn't have trouble setting it up or connecting to it, but this printer jams ALL the time. The ink cartridges can't seem to move back and forth properly so it just makes a lot of noise mostly. If the ink can finally get itself where it needs to go, it gets a paper jam about 2 sheets in and then starts the madness all over again. My biggest regret is that I just spent $60 on ink refills because I am ready to throw this thing out the window.

Summary: This 6100 HP goes through its ink cartridges practically weekly. I'm not printing photos or anything crazy. Also when I put in a new cartridge it will not print correctly until I run the clean print cartridges feature a couple times which is another horrible waste of ink. The ink cartridges are expensive and very very small. What you saved on this printer you will spend exponentially on print cartridges. It's the worst printer I have ever owned.
Summary: I will never buy another Hewlett Packard product. Small extremely expensive ink cartridges always running out. Aggravating interruptions with wireless printing. This is a company that only wants to sell you ink…they could care less about their customers. Sad because they used to be reliable.
This printer might be the stupidest printer ever created
8 February 2015
Summary: This printer might be the stupidest printer ever created. The people at HP must just be laughing all the way to the bank. Seriously, we hardly ever use it, and it is ALWAYS out of ink. And to make it even more frustrating it won't print in "black only" unless ALL of the ink cartridges are full. Tell me, what is the point of that? After years of great HP home printers, I will now buy another brand.
Summary: It's as others have said. This is a poorly designed printer. If you are in a hurry for a document to print, forget it. It will literally take 8-10 minutes minimum to print. I don't print a lot, so it's likely the printer was in a standby mode, but that doesn't excuse the insanely long time to get a single page.
