Summary: I was looking for a small, lightweight printer. This one was recommended because it fit those qualities. The other thing, most important thing, was speed. This printer is, without a doubt, the slowest printer I have ever used. I thought the K5400 was slow because it takes a long time for it to get started but it spits out prints very fast. The H6100 was just s-l-o-w-! At the end of two hours, I had less than 100 pages printed. That is just unacceptable.
Excerpt: HP phone support was great. Their tech took control of my PC remotely and fixed the problem. It took them about 45 minutes but I was watching the ballgame the whole time! I'll upgrade my review to 3 stars.
Excerpt: Unit worked fine for a couple of months but the wireless went intermittent. I've spent two evenings trouble shooting. As I sit here writing this review. the lights indicating ink levels are all lit up and flashing like a Christmas tree - too bad it's June. Also, be aware if you purchase a SQUARETRADE warranty, it doesn't kick in until all other warranties have expired.
Summary: The printer seems to produce a fine print; no problems there. The ink cartridges don't seem to have a secure plug-in nest, and when the printer is in use it sounds like it's trying to tear itself apart. It is extremely noisy. By comparison, my old printer, an HP Deskjet 960 was reasonably quiet.
Summary: I have just finished installing the OfficeJet 6100 and it was by far the easiest to install printer I have ever had. Followed the directions for Mac wireless installation which were pretty clear and everything went fine. Am easily able to print from my iPhone 5 and my husband's iPhone 4 and iPad without installing extra software so I think the AirPrint must be working. Thanks!
Summary: I don't think I've ever been so disappointed in a product and service, ever. The printer came with software for Window7, and despite spending over an hour on the phone with Support, we still can't download software for Windows8 onto an HP computer. The printer uses ink at an alarming rate . . . just bought third set of cartridges in less than a year . . . and have used only 200 sheets of paper . . . none of it photo quality printing . . . just some graphs for work.
Summary: Do not under any circumstance buy this printer. It chews through ink and one day will stop working with the most vague error reason. HP support does not provide any viable solution to resolve the problem.
Excerpt: Customer had a problem with printer.....using premium paper. Ink came up as a probem. Replaced Ink & customer still said problem with printer. Checked it out and did not find any problem with printer - using regular copy paper. Tested many times & had absolutely no problem. I have a feeling customer was inserting paper improperly. Repurchased new printer..and took this one to my office and have had no problems, what so ever. Also confirmed at customer location.
Excerpt: I've always respected HP printers, and I'm pleased to see they keep getting better. This is your basic inexpensive printer, but unlike many, the wireless is amazingly simple to set up. It worked perfectly on first set-up attempt on both windows-based computer and iPad - a must these days. Printing is quick and clear.
Excerpt: Prints quickly and very clearly. It allows for easy setup and is easy to use. It was fairly priced and offered good rebates at the time we purchased. It is used in a non-profit organization office. It holds a fair amount of paper for a larger printing job. I would purchase another HP Printer based on the performance of this one and would recommend it.
