Summary: I've bought HP inkjets for years but I'm going to try another brand now. I've had this for just under 3 years and it's finally tipped the bucket. A few months ago when I attempted to print something it would print everything except black text. Tried troubleshooting by using HP's toolbox to align and clean printheads. Also tried manually cleaning printheads with no luck and using a completely new ink cartridge. I even made sure the driver was up to date.
Summary: As others have inferred, the primary purpose of this printer is not to print documents. It's designed to sell ink, expensive ink. It's also noisy, clattering, and very annoying. It does print clearly. It does feed the paper correctly. But those features can't quell my desire to smash it with a baseball bat every time it starts printing (or more correctly, every time it goes through its rattle-dance in preparation for printing).
Summary: I have been using this particular printer since March of this year (It is mid-September now), and this printer is more frustration then it is worth. My standard Monday is composed of printing out checks and invoices, any required paperwork for the month and standard office clerical duties. Every single Monday I am bent over this stupid printer attempting to get it to print out documents I have sent to it.
Summary: When I bought my new HP laptop computer to use for work and home, I sadly discovered that this new laptop would not and COULD not connect to any of my older HP printers....HP no longer supports the "older printer models" and drivers are not available for their newer model computers...Although I was very disappointed (I LOVED the print quality on my "old" printer) I figured that HP has to find some way to force the consumer to buy new printers..
Summary: my new hp printer 0ffice jet 6000 which replaces another which i liked a lot, was very hard to get working and install. needed to get outside (paid) help now the printer prints my color photos all in red, tho it was working well when finally installed difficult to directly reach hp to solve problem very disappointed in product
Summary: Mostly I like this printer--and I loved being able to print wirelessly so I didn't have to have that cord laying across my desk. But half the time (or more) my computer says it's offline and nothing happens. I turn it off and on and sometimes that fixes it, at least after several tries. Yet at other times it prints effortlessly.
Summary: The HP 6000 is the noisiest printer I have ever owned, the print quality is ok when you can get it to print. I swear this thing is posessed, it will blink and make noises then shut itself off. I finally got rid of the 6000 and bought an HP All-In-One, problem solved.
