Excerpt: I love HP printers and have rarely had issues with them. Unfortunately, I really wanted the network capacity of this one and it hasn't delivered as seamlessly as hoped. While it works fine with the newer operating systems, our older desktops have needed more IT support than an inexpensive printer should warrant.
Excerpt: I purchased this printer because it was at a steep discount, but our IT people scolded me: We no longer purchase the P1606DN as it is very difficult to get installed as a network printer. The print driver is not conducive to a network install. I returned it without even opening the box, and ordered the HP LaserJet Pro 400 M401dne instead. In general, HP makes excellent printers and I'm sure that this would work fine in the appropriate environment.
Excerpt: Gave up trying to connect my old HP 1012 LaserJet to my new Dell computer with Windows 8.1. Fiddled around, tried a few things from the web - no dice. Sort of worked but no good news overall. So I did some research and finally picked the HP LaserJet Pro P1606dn from Staples (and at a pretty darned good price!!).
Excerpt: looks cheap but so far works good . printing does come out clear . the bad thing about the printer it is very loud and you have to press reset button alot. my last hp was great it lasted for 7 years best printer i ever had .
