the printer doesn't like to pick up pages of label paper
28 September 2014
Summary: I wish I would have known that the print wasn't going to be as crisp as I need it to be to make labels. Also, the printer doesn't like to pick up pages of label paper. I have to press 'reprint' over and over until it decides to, finally, pick up the paper to print. I did get a used one, though.
Excerpt: Sadly, I cannot recommend this printer due to HP's lack of support for Mac users running Mavericks 10.9.2. Why? Simple. When the printer goes "to sleep" in the standby mode, it does not like to "wake up" from its nap.
Pros: prints very fast, nice profile small footprint, prints quality documents
Cons: issues with mavericks, loses connectivty when running mac 0s 10.9.2
Summary: I bought this as a replacement for my ancient Laserjet 1200 which gave out a year or two after I thought it was going to last forever. This one appears to be just as good; time will tell. It certainly prints much, much better. I like the one page at a time feed.
Summary: **Please Note: This printer can not be properly installed, and will not work as designed, without a unique USB cable attached (permanently) to the printer. One end is standard USB but the other has a small square end. Also, the description implies the printer might be wireless. It's not.
Summary: The instructions to install and make a wireless Laptop connection are not included with this printer. It took me three days to get it working using four different people in tech support to make it work by email printing. It does not print by wifi, contrary to what their description infers.
