Definitely a bad choice for me

Summary: I purchased this HP LaserJet Pro 400 Color M451 dn printer earlier this year. I don't usually write reviews but have been so frustrated and unhappy with this product - I feel compelled to write about it. It jammed on day 1 and almost every day since. It's unreliable because just to print a page or 2 it takes time to move it around and open and shut all the compartments, adjust the paper, etc. Definitely a bad choice for me! Ugh!!
Summary: The printer makes an obnoxious loud beeping noise whenever it prints. Although the colors are nice I can't use the printer when in my home office at night because it is so incredibly loud when it prints!! Very disappointed and cuts down on productivity.
Excerpt: So we loved this printer for about 2 months... it worked great. We do a good amount of printing and had a brother printer before this. It worked great for 5 years but didnt print as nice in color. This does print beautifully when it works correctly. We have constent "missfeeds" and you need to hit the ok button multuiple times during 1 small print job. The ink cartridges go very quickly even though they claim to last a long time... and the ink is NOT cheap!
Summary: This printer will stop printing well before a toner cartridge is empty. You are required to replace the very expensive cartridge before printing can resume. Very frustrating. There is no way to let me be the judge of when I want to replace a colour.
Summary: Upon initial use of printer, print-outs were streaking; color distorted; totally unsatisfied. Printer had to be returned; awaiting another printer to see if better performance. Could be that it was one bad apple in the bunch... Not what I expected from HP, as HP as been at the top of my printer listing.
Summary: I decided that instead of getting a cheap machine and being fleeced for the ink cartridges, I would spend money on an office model that would get the job done. This was a highly rated machine, so I am flabbergasted. Check out the Hewlett Packard and the words "spool area full" on Google and you will see that, for many of their models, the machines print what they want when they want with apple computers.
HP has lost it! Terrible software. Terrible support.

Summary: I have worked with PCs and networks for over 20 years. I'm currently using a Dell PC with 32 bit Win 7 OS. I've tried to load software from the CD, from the printer itself and from the HP Driver website. It's all defective. In addition, my new printer cannot see my WiFi SSID like my other 3 Dell laptops, Apple iPad, 3 iPhones, Roku, etc. I called for support but unlike their competition, they only offer support Monday through Friday from 6 to 6.

Summary: I run a home-based business and print maybe 100 pages a day. This is not very much considering this is supposed to be a professional printer. This printer was bought here on Amazon on September 5, 2012, so as of writing this its just out of warranty which is suspect in itself. A printer that costs over $400 should last more than a year. I also bought the extra tray for another hundred or so.
Summary: Great quality of prints. Horrible cost per page. This printer installed flawlessly for both the PC and the MacBook. It’s functionality is easy to use. It produces brilliant colors and first print comes out within 30 seconds. All of this is really important stuff for a good color laser printer. However, (and it’s a big however), sadly the toner cartridges are not even close to the advertised volume.
