HP makes great laser printers
SHELLEY KY, Amazon
Summary: HP makes great laser printers. This is my third since 1995. The last two have been wireless. Printer number two was a workhorse and it's still going. So this new one works as expected but I would like to say something about set up for Macs. It's not as straightforward as PC setup. You will need to go to the manual on the CD and go to the wireless Mac set up and follow the instructions.
Excerpt: Pros: - Quick printing- Wireless- Easy to use- Simple designCons: - Manual duplexing (printing on both sides)- Minor connectivity issues (My problems may be from incorrectly installing the driver)- The lid, that holds up the printed pages, broke too soon, and I had to tape it on to the printer.- (Obvious but) Only black-and-white printing. NO COLOR.My thoughts: It is a great printer. Very quick wireless printing.
Excerpt: This is a great printer for lower volume laser printing. I have not tried the wireless yet but its great plugged in. It has a small footprint if you have a small desk or work space. It is reasonable and prints well. It is must better than using inkjets.
Great Printer - Impossible Wireless Connection - Awesome Support
7 February 2015
Summary: Pros: Awesome printer. Fast printing. Great print quality. Good looking. Cons: Impossible to set up wireless printing. Tried everything I read here, online and the HP Website. Was only able to print via USB. Problem: I installed the CD and it asks you to plug USB printer it wouldn't find any wireless networks or finish the installation. Solution: Called HP Support 1-800-474-6836 (number was in a leaflet inside box). Nice gentleman (Sean) helped me out.
Summary: For home/casual use it's probably fine...but if you are in a business/office situation I'd suggest having more than one. I've gone through about 5 of them, most haven't lasted longer than a year. I stuck with this model through some of that junk partly because of its widespread availability at brick & mortar stores. It's not as common anymore so I'm phasing these out and moving to another brand.
Pros: Small size. The printer and replacement toner cartridges are available at big box retailers. Wifi connectivity can be handy. Handles various paper stocks without issue. 1 year warranty Under a hundred bucks isn't a bad price.
Cons: These things don't last too long. Without warning they'll just stop printing and the warning light will flash. When that happens it's finished and has to be replaced.
Excerpt: This is a nice printer. It is just the right size to fit on your desk area, without taking up too much room. It works great. The toner cartridges are easy to find and are fairly inexpensive. The quality of the printer is great, and the copies are crisp and clear, no smudges or smeared printing. Overall, I would say it is a great product for the fairly inexpensive price you pay.
