Summary: I have had this printer for 3+ years and would have given it 4 stars. However, I have a new wireless router and need to re-install and add to wireless network which is not possible. I no longer have the installation CD and apparently this is required since the Wireless Configuration Utility is no where to be found. So I refuse to pay $20 for the installation CD on principal.
Summary: For wireless operation, install the printer with the lousy instructions and NEVER EVER change your router or network settings. Why? Because once you install this printer wirelessly there is NO WAY to re-install it with new settings on the SAME computer. Basically if you need to change the wireless settings for a new router you have to find another computer where it's never been installed and then install it on that new computer with your new wireless settings.
Summary: Loses connectivity constantly. One hour to fix 10 seconds to print. For those of you that keep trying to use this printer, when it loses connectivity try unplugging the power supply for ten seconds. If that makes it feel happy that day it may spit out a response. IT WILL ONLY PRINT business size envelopes. May the force be with you.
Summary: Impossible to connect to your wireless router. Everything else connects to my router except this devise. It finds the SSID but then states there are no wireless devises found. My router even has WPS and the printer still can't find it or connect. I have removed the firewall, all passwords, and yet this printer still can not connect. I see others having the same problem. However, I can connect it to my routers USB port but kind of defeats the purpose.
Summary: The printer is advertised as "wireless". It is not. It cannot maintain a wireless connection. It also needs to be manually turned on whenever it's used, making the wireless feature mostly useless (assuming it worked, which it doesn't). Do not buy.
replacing toner cartridges is such a pain in the buttocks!
13 April 2014
Summary: Have had this printer for over a year and the only issue I have is trying to replace the toner cartridge. The printer works great but haven broken two toner refills trying to fit them in, the last one got so stuck that when I finally got it out, it damaged the printer itself. HP has good products but toner is it's Achilles heel. Result = Will go back to inkjets.
Summary: I previously purchased an HP 73100 All in one and loved it. It's still works reliably today after 8 years. Unfortunately I've have had a lot of aggravation with the Laser Jet Pro P1102w. Multiple times in the first year I've had to call text support because it would stop printing. The HP tech support has been great, solving the problem but my one year warranty ran out in February.
