Summary: We had this exact model in our office, and the laser went kaput on us. Rather than buy a new laser for it and pay for a service call, we decided to get a refurbished model because we really like the model, and didn't want to test the waters with any other model. The printer we got was refurbished and just a bit banged up - but it works great and is meeting our needs 100%. No problems with delivery - it arrived quickly and works fine!
Summary: I have used this print for years. My old HP needed work so I went looking for a used one so I do not have to configure a different printer, More importantly to get this quality printer new would cost hunders more, The printer is good for invoicing as well as any work you have to print without color. Buy it.
Summary: The HP 4100N LasterJet Printer is an excellent printer for home office or departmental use. The rapid print speed and high print quality produce crisp, clean documents. Envelopes can also be printed with the manual feed tray without creases or crumples. The main paper tray holds a ream of paper making printer maintenance simple and infrequent. The only thing it is missing is color and large format printing capability.
Pros: The printer is a bit large in size and too costly for most home users.
Cons: The printer is a bit large in size and too costly for most home users.
Summary: For the past year or so, I had been noticing that my old HP LaserJet 5MP was taking longer and longer to print. Of course, the fact that my documents have been getting progressively more complex probably had something to do with it...but I'll choose to blame the printer. Finally fed up with my circa-1995 printer, I started the search to replace it. I looked at a lot of different units, but finally decided on the 4100N.
Summary: This printer is so easy to install, I just left the option on for DHCP and within seconds our Wk2 and linux systems were cranking out the print jobs. The built in web server and HP's Web Jet Admin are a breeze to use. The 500 sheet paper capacity means I dont spend most of my time reloading the paper tray!! When I need to print on special media types, I just pop open the front tray load and print, no fussing with changing the paper out in the main tray.
Summary: For the best in all round small workgroup printing (3 to 20 people), this is the perfect printer -- it works well with everything from MS-DOS and Windows to Unix, Apple, and even the IBM AS/400. It will continue to run 24 X 7 with little maintenance required. I have used this model and its predecessors (4050N, 4000N, etc.
Summary: Arrived but had some technical issues getting it to work. Appeared to be a faulty network card - this was replaced within a day and now works. Very responsive technical support. Good printer for the cost.
