Summary: I was so happy to find a HP laser jet 4 printer through amazon. I know it is an older printer but they last forever. The printer came in 4 days wow what great service. I would purchase form The Printer Shop again. Thank you for great service.
these things are workhorses, they last forever....

Summary: These things last forever, they are way cheaper to operate than inkjet printers. My daughter prints stuff for school and anything else. Random miscellaneous printing can cost a bundle when using ink jet cartridges. The toner cost about $20 and lasts for nearly a year..
Summary: printer is a work horse. got my bang for my bucks. i have four others that are still being used. i wish they would still manufacture these. the output cost for black & white printing is unparalled by any other printer.
Summary: I found one of these insanely cheap and my dad who bought it up along with the toner carts. These were manufactured in the mid 90's, but whereas almost all computer related stuff from that era is obsolete, this thing keeps ticking. It's currently networked and handles the bulk printing for our family over five computers. If you get one that works well, it will still handle all your black and white printing needs at a very reasonable cost. A few comments, however.
Summary: I bought this printer, HP Laserjet 4 Plus, because it is less costly to use than inkjet printers. It is a fast black and white pinter. I was a printer tech for many years and really liked the quality of HP products. I did not get a toner cartridge with this one. Be sure to ask if cartridges come with the printer you are buying. I think this is a good buy.
Summary: Why you bought it. This printer was purchased because it is compatible with the operating system on the MAC that I use for work. What you like most about it. I've found the HP Laserjet 4 to be workhorse of a printer, I publish 2 small local newspapers and the HP allows me to print out proofs (at 72% of actual size) for my editor to proof. What you dislike about it.
Summary: These printers are workhorses. Most are 15 years old and just keep going. Parts are easily available and one can be rebuilt for less than $100. Cartridges are relatively inexpensive and are available form many after-market sources. For everyday B/W printing you can’t beat these machines. HP will never build them again because they last too long.
Summary: I picked up an HP LaserJet 4 Plus from a local merchant over two years ago. I used it for a while, then stuffed it in my closet for about 1 year while I used a different printer. the other printer I was using was a Minolta 2300DL Color Laser, and believe it or not, I'm much happier with the HP 4 Plus than I ever was with the color one.
Summary: Love how fast it is, and the fact that I've gone through almost three 500pg packages of paper and it still keeps printing! Laser printers are FAR more superior. Also like it because it's familiar to me, therefore easy to use. Only downfall is that it's enormous, weighs a ton, and dims all the lights in two rooms when it's on. Bang for the buck though I cannot complain one bit.
Summary: Probably one of HPs most reliable laser printers. Ok, you can buy faster, newer, lighter, smaller and more high tech printers but for the price you can't go wrong with an LJ 4+. The 4+ plods along at about 12ppm (faster than the LJ 4) which is fast enough for most light duties in a office. We have four printers, two LJ4+s, a Minolta laser and an Infotec IPC2838.
