Summary: I bought this printer on newegg in 2008 when it was on sale for $250. I've been using it every since. I AM ON THE ORIGINAL TONER STILL! In fact, all 4 toners are still 60% full. I print a lot too.
Pros: Great workhorse of a printer. Been printing like a champ for years.
Cons: Uses a relatively large amount of power in sleep mode (~15W) so I shut it off with the hard switch when I'm not printing.
Summary: I tried several sets of remanufactured cartridges for the HP 3600 printer marketed by Xerox. "Hey, if it's Xerox," I thought, "maybe it is just as good." Not so. The Xerox cartridge is simply a re-filled HP cartridge with a Xerox sticker on it. I don't think they change the drum.
Pros: A nice printer, with great color, fast printing, and quick response. I was initially scared off by the per-page cost. The printer warns when the rated page count is getting close, and it actually stops printing when the cartridge page limit is reached and says, "purchase more cartridges." Using a...
Cons: I think shutting down at the rated page limit is extremely lame. I ended up returning several nearly full cartridges to HP before I found out this hidden little f"override at out" feature, which takes 41 clicks to get to. Why do these printer makers not have some means of weighing the cartridges ...
Summary: I am both a high school student and own a small desktop publishing company. When i decided to order a color laser printer my first thought was to go and get HP, I WAS RIGHT. This unit is great a must for anyone. If able to afford 2 or more get them it will save on ink.
Pros: *Networking was very simple *Up and printing in minutes *Great quality *Fast *COLOR *Cheap unit for high quality results
Cons: *Price of toner, buy 2 units and save money *Somewhat noisy but not bad
Summary: Go for it! Many other retail stores are selling it for 250 right now, but I got it off Newegg because I'd rather give them 250$ than most retail stores and there was no tax and free delivery.
Pros: Very fast printing, 4000 page color carts. included, very good print quality, great photos (for a color laser anyway), good paper handling, network ready, good looking, "override at out" feature...
Cons: A new set of toners is expensive...but aren't all color lasers? (at least they include the drum!), frequently "calibrates"
Summary: If you do it right you should only need to buy a black cartage for the life of the printer with luck. You might as well buy a second printer for 249$ if you plan on printing a lot.
Pros: My first Laser printer was a Star that lasted my 14 years and I paid about $700 for it. I got this one for 249 shipped. I can only hope it last half as long as my old B/w one did. (Still works by the way, just need new toner). So far this new printer works very nice. I use it for my kid’s home wo...
Cons: It’s big, twice as big as my old star printer. Toner will eat you a hole in your pocket if you want to use it that way. (I don’t). If I have any picture to print or anything that I need really good color for I go to Kinkoo’s or waalmat for a better job and save on your toner that is going to cost...
Summary: The only problem I'm having with this printer is deciding if I should buy a second one! It's a great printer and the price is just ridiculous at $249! New toner is nearly double that so I'm thinking about getting a second one.
Pros: Price, speed, ethernet connection and print quality
Summary: little loud, but its definatly a piece of machinery, so it supposed to make some noise. Right?
Pros: 100% HP quality....need we say more, as far as im concerned, HP printers are the best, quality, durability, style, parts availibilty, the network configuration for setting a static IP on these can be done in 30 seconds, just like the old days of the 4100's
Summary: I bought this printer as a cost effective alternative to a good color inkjet because I'm not printing photo quality prints. Plus the toner can last for years and not dry out like a color inkjet will whether you use the ink or not.
Pros: Good color, fast, easy to setup, plus enough toner to last me for years out of the box. Also includes the Jetdirect networking functionality built in.
Cons: Toner is pricey to replace, but the aftermarket toner is reasonable, and the price per page is actually really good compared to most color laser printers.
Summary: I've read reviews that ding this printer for the response-time from standby and the color quality. It's connected to my network and I find that it'll start printing within a matter of seconds.
Pros: Decent color, fast, easy setup, lots of toner.
