The best desktop printer I've had.

Ernesto Vides, Amazon
14 January 2014
  • Summary: the printer works perfect, takes up very little space on the desk. Makes a noise when printing, but it is a loud noise or a noise like street traffic. If you are printing some noise will do not expect it to be 100% silent, excellent occupying famous Q2612A cartridges that are economical and easily on Amazon. The next thing I'll say for all those people that put all buts. The tray is for a few pages, but it's enough, do not ask so much for a small desktop printer.

This is my 2nd one. I think it is a powerhouse

stephan ginsberg, Amazon
16 August 2013
  • Summary: I have more recent ones but this one really lasts and can take the use of an office. It is compact and very rarely jams. If it does it is easy to clear. As all of them it is the plastic not the motor that breaks.

Why did they ever discontinue?

Paul G. Kosto, Amazon
29 November 2012
  • Summary: Bomb proof, easy to set up and use printer. Should have made this forever. Why do I have to add more words once I'm done reviewing?

Low maintenance and low per page cost

milez-davis, Ebay
1 April 2012
  • Summary: It's not a high feature printer - only one paper tray, no duplex. But it's reliable and the replacement cartridges are dirt cheap (you can get them rebuilt for as low as $6. We have about 20 of them at our school and the low first cost (buying used) and low toner cost gives you the lowest cost per page for laser printing.

Works well, replacement cartridges are cheap on Ebay

rollingbigbob, Ebay
28 February 2011
  • Summary: This is my second 1022N. The first one prints fast, is reliable, and has inexpensive replacement cartriges on ebay. In one heavy use I went through 10 reams of paper and use one full toner cartrige plus most of another. That will vary based on print density. There is no wireless connection, but wired connections seem much more reliable. Getting a second printer was for redundancy.

Hewlett Packard LaserJet 1022N Printer

vtr5955, Ebay
6 February 2010
  • Summary: What I like: Good quality of output and a reliable paper feed mechanism that only jams if I try to feed paper that may have been stapled together. The toner cartridge lasts a long time and is reasonably priced, for a laser cartridge. I bought this to attach to my DSL modem/router and make it available to all the notebook computers we have in the house. It works great on that level. It's compact, light weight, and uncomplicated. Finally, it's at a good price point.

Printer is 5 stars but HP driver support is horrific!

bhartsb, Amazon
29 October 2009
  • Summary: This printer never installed without using the setup disk. It will not install on Windows 7 and HP has not yet provided a driver even though Windows 7 is officially released. In general HP is so far removed from the company it used to be 20-30 years ago. Excepting for some models of printers their product quality is terrible. HP Support via their web pages is horrifically bad.
