Summary: This printer is a workhorse. It is now 2014 and I have replaced the toner cartridge once since 2006. I don't print everyday, but I do print without worrying. It has a small footprint and prints over USB. It is not loud and it is fast. I have had several ink jet printers and have been dissatisfied with everyone of them as soon as the ink ran out. This printer has been a pleasure and continues to be.
Excerpt: The LaserJet 1020 printer from HP is ideal for people who want a simple, reliable, monochrome laser printer that will perform as a reliable workhorse day after day. It is not particularly exciting, it is not fashionably styled and it has no exciting special features - it doesn’t even …
Summary: Printer works well. My issues with it are: rebuilt with different color parts (not the first time I bought rebuilt but never had this issue) and no plastic dust cover for paper (also used as a loading area for labels, envelopes, etc.
Summary: I have never written a review before, but this printer is so awesome that I felt compelled to go out of my way to sing its praises. I received it as a gift in my freshman year of college, and now 7 years later it has never failed me to this day. I've only ever had to replace the toner once, and it has never malfunctioned. Most reliable and easy to use product I own.
Summary: These are pretty good workhorse printers. We've been using them in an office environment for years. Toner is a bit spendy unfortunately. Out of around 5+ that we have i've only had to send one in for repairs, and user 'error' probably caused that.
Summary: I've had this printer since 2003. No problems, no issues, 0 maintenance, use cheapest generic remanufactured toner from amazon sellers. Light home use. Friend bought the newer model about three years ago. Compared to 1020 the new models have a much lower cartridge capacity, smaller cartridge. I think about half the size of 1020.
