Features

The HP Indigo press 5500 is a printer that supports optional capabilities including in-line connection to UV coating, an additional 3-drawer feeder and support for thicker substrates. This enables the printer to support broader application coverage, optimized operational efficiencies and lower TCO. It features HP ElectroInk liquid ink technology, a wide color gamut, with up to 7-color printing; HP Professional PANTONE© emulation and ICC profiles color management; and special and spot color capabilities, including new photo inks such as light cyan and light magenta, digital matte and brand colors. It also supports 68 ppm full color, 136 ppm in 2-color and 272 ppm monochrome printing in one press, regardless of media type or thickness; continuous printing with multi drawers and stackers, switching between jobs, proofs and media types; adjustment free, minimum touch paper handling and optimized printing operations which allow a single operator to run two machines simultaneously. The On-press ink replacement system eliminates ink replacement downtime when changing colors on press and the Multiple Digital Front End (DFE) options offer workflow flexibility and scalable processing power.
