The HP Deskjet D4260 offers aside from being compact in size its ability to give out sharp and clear images because of its 4,800 dpi print quality.
Features
It has a tremendous speed using USB connectivity. Print resolution for black is up to 1200 by 1200 dpi while resolution for color is up to 4800 optimized dpi and an input dpi of 1200. It can print up to 30 pages for every minute. Using the draft quality mode, the print speed for black is up to 30 ppm while the print speed for color is up to 23 ppm. Using the normal quality mode, print speed for black is up to 8.9 ppm while for print speed for color is up to 5.8 ppm. It has one paper tray and has an input capacity of up to 100 sheets with an output capacity of up to 50 sheets. This printer is sheet fed and it has a dual ink type of dye-based and pigment based.

Purchased the printer Sunday afternoon over the internet and the printer was delivered Tuesday about noon. Hard to beat that kind of service, and the price was about 40% of original list. Been using the printer about a month and it works great, drinks ink, but then they all do. Nothing new about that. You get what you pay for printer!

I wasn't expecting much from a free printer (after a rebate bundle deal), but I wanted it to be workable. The printer is serviceable. It produces decent text printouts, and the pictures are decent, but not great. THis is okay for general purpose, but for real picture printing, buy something better. I like that the ink is fairly inexpensive. It takes a HP74 Black cartridge (about $17) and a HP75 Color cartridge (about $20). Read more

cheap and fast

Inexpensive printer, prints very fast in draft mode. I have two kids in school, we needed a fast printer that could print out decently in draft mode (to save ink) This printer does a good job of printing in draft mode (very readable and submittable to school) and is very quick.
